I had a pint of this beer on tap at the brewpub. Its appearance was a semi-cloudy copper-brown color with a slight amber hue, with a small, foamy, off-white head that had good lacing and cling, but little retention. The beer had a rich malty aroma with notes of caramel and toffee, and some subtle hops notes of grain and perhaps pine. Its flavor was sweet and malty with notes of caramel and a light touch of fruit, along with a very slight earthy bitterness. It was a wet, watery beer with low carbonation and light fizz to go with a smooth body that resulted in a medium-full mouthfeel. A good, interesting beer, but not one of their best. strongpieman (1651) - Mount Airy, Maryland, USA - MAR 31, 2012
Draft at brewpub. Smooth and malty, deep brown with a tall foamy head. A little creamy with just faint smoke / peat. Very enjoyable beer.
