Tap - pours dark black brown with minimal tan head. Definite aromas of belgian yeast, dark malt, and chocolate. Smooth palate, lighter bodied. Delicious notes of chocolate, grain, biscuit, and dark dried fruits. Derek881 (1272) - Denver, Colorado, USA - FEB 29, 2012
I had a pint of this seasonal brew on tap at the brewpub in February 2012. The beer had a rich dark brown-black color with an average-sized, creamy, dark tan head with very good cling and modest retention. Its aroma featured a malty chocolate scent with perhaps some caramel mixed in, and a touch of earthy hops as well. The taste was quite sweet with a pleasant chocolate effect, and a touch of hoppy bitterness too. The beer was rather wet with low carbonation and fizz and had a lighter mouthfeel. Good seasonal brew!
