Bottle, shared with Parksy & Grippitis. Murky brown body, little head. Tart fruit, more cherries than grapes, chocolate, caramel. Low carbonation, medium bodied.

Mi aspettavo meglio, un po’ astringente, note vinose un po’ slegate da quelle maltate... comunque il livello č sempre alto

UPDATED: FEB 18, 2013 19/I/13 - 75cl bottle from Gradi Plato (Roma) @ RBBWG 2013 - BB: I/2014 - 2008 vintage (2013-81)

Clear purple brown beer, small aery beige head, unstable, bit adhesive. Aroma: caramel, raisins, dried fruits, some chloride, grapes, bit sourish. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: pretty sugary, red wine, grape fruice, pretty sour, bitter tannins, some caramel (ok, only read afterwards that this beer was made with grapes, suddenly the label makes sense). Aftertaste: little bitter, mocha, sour touch, caramel, bit malty, dry hops, bitter ending, bit chocolaty.

Clear brown colour, beige head. Sweet aroma, caramel, molasses and most. Vinous notes. Sweet flavour, light bitter, roasted malts and some sweet fruits. Light grape peel astringency. Finish liquorice and roasted malts.
Original idea, nice brew.

Thx. tderoeck / Tim for this one. 75 cl. bottle sampled @ RBBWG 2013. Apparently made Italian grapes, yay, appears to be some kind of vintage, I am guessing 2011 but that is a pure guess. Pours a blackish brown with a tanned head. Smell sweet, sticky & tad boozy, mocha, grapes, yeast, brown sugar & very strongly vineous. Didn’t know this was made with grapes when I wrote this stuff, was just a bit surprised & figured it just went south like this :) taste is bitter coffee, spices, mocha, chocolate plus a strong vinous character, dark fruits, light booze, malty with red grapes // red wine, light red wine booze in the back. Rather smooth, both sides don’t entirely work, I feel, don’t know, remember the bottle & see the notes but no distinct memories, going mainly by my badly written notes :) This was the last new beer of the evening for me, after this just re-sampling & drinking leftovers.

UPDATED: JUL 19, 2013 Una delle migliori birre italiane senza dubbio, barley wine con forti sentori vinosi molto delicato e piacevolmente equlibrato.
