33cl flip top bottle courtesy of Buckeyeboy. Cheers Jeremy for hauling this one to Belgium. Beer was about a week old.
Pours almost perfectly transparent light golden. Big citrus/fruity hop character without too much bitterness. Enough malt sweetness for balance and absolutely no trace of booze despite high abv. Really impressive as anticipated. JohnGalt1 (1721) - Boise, Idaho, USA - MAR 1, 2014
Had this rarity tonight at Bier Thirty in Bown... In fact, had it twice!! Beautiful slightly hazed golden... good white head with okay retention and nice lacing.
Nose shows the expected boat-load of nice hops.... lemon and some pithy tangerine... a nice punch of tropical fruity hops are magnified by but what little maltiness that is left... very nice.
Bitter on the palate, but not an abrasive bitter monster, instead this is very balanced and fairly dry overall... lemon and something that reminds me of pineapple lead the hop charge. A light hint of the EtOH, but nothing to worry about.
IMO, the body is on the light side given the bigger ABV and that actually accentuates the drinkability... I put away 2x of these in a hurry and would have had another if they hadn’t blown the keg.
Big props to Barley Brown’s and Boneyard... One of the best DIPA’s ever made. BuckeyeBoy (7663) - Boise, Idaho, USA - MAR 1, 2014
On tap at bier thirty. Pours out a nice golden topped with a white head. Nose is great pine citrus caramel and some resin. Taste as the nose with a great hop combo citrus tropical fruit and a nice grapefruit peel bitterness on the end. douglas88 (9176) - Portland, Oregon, USA - FEB 26, 2014
Glass at APEX. Pours a bright copper color with a medium white head. A huge sweet nose, candied oranges. The flavor is deep hop resin, green at times, mellow bitterness, background sweet toasted malts, super smooth, more candied oranges, pineapples. Awesome beer! Super clean and smooth whilst being very flavorful and big.

On tap. Colour...crystal clear, straw-gold with an ample white head. Nose...massively hoppy with loads of grapefruit AND pine all at once, and a musky-husky thang goin’ on. Palate...light bodied up front, even somewhat lithe, and then BAM! The barrage of hops hits mid palate followed by swarming seas of tropical fruits and boiled fruity sweets. The hop bite is intense and nearly stings the soft palate before the flavours crescendo down the pipe! bvc (1242) - Washington, USA - FEB 25, 2014
UPDATED: MAR 8, 2014 Thanks Andrew! Clean bright yellow golden with thin head that leaves some lacing. Hop bomb nose! Dank stickey pine, weed, no malt to really speak of. Aggressive hops, enamel ripping finishes with some sweetness. Great stuff! BEENJAMIN (290) - Portland, Oregon, USA - FEB 23, 2014
On tap at Belmont Station and Baileys in Portland, Or - Pours a beautifully glowing golden with a thin white head. Aroma is huge, grapefruit citrus honey and a little earthy funk. Flavor is equally satisfying, this is one bad ass IPA! pdx77 (1483) - Oregon, USA - FEB 23, 2014
On draught at Bailey’s Taproom. Clear golden color. Aroma is pine, caramel, plum, tart citrus. Taste is plump pitted fruit, caramel, honey, and loads of resinous pine. Super hoppy, but with a honey finish to balance the abrasive bitterness. boFNjackson (4201) - Portland, Oregon, USA - FEB 21, 2014
UPDATED: MAR 4, 2014 Tap @ Blitz... Poured clear golden/amber with a nice forming eggshell head. Wonderful resinous hops with green, earthy spiced tones in both aroma and taste. Citrus and dankiness with nice bitterness and balance without being too sweet for the higher abv. Really nice triple IPA.
