Taster at taproom. Beautiful looking pour, small creamy head. Nice roasty, smoky aroma. Taste is also spot on, burnt toast, roast grains, just burnt enough. Smooth and dry.

Pint poured from a 32 oz growler purchased from Westside Tap House in West Salem OR. $6 Blackest of black body with a gorgeous frothy and thick tan head. Nice looking beer. Sweet cocoa, coffee and nutty flavors. Taste similar but with a bit of creamy lactose and weak licorice. Great thick mouth feel..very luxuriant. Nice staout.

On tap at The Loyal Legion, pours jet black with a small brown head. Aroma brings out notes of roast and dry cocoa. Flavour is robust, with roasted malt, dry cocoa powder and some dusty notes. Robust and medium-bodies. Very nice.

Time for an Oregonian to rate this beer! Colour...jet black with a thick ecru head. Nose...very roasty with notes of cocoa powder and cocoa husks. Palate....lightly sweet, dry, and somewhat sweet with roasted nuts, cocoa crinkle cookies and hints of coffee. The finish is long and slightly tangy with hints of chocolate cream.

Draft - Lots of roast and some chocolate. Jet black with a rich brown head. Molasses and dark sugar sweetness, touch of burnt or smoke and a long bitter finish. Not bad.
