Taster at Growler Guys. Dark brown, opaque, small ring if head, lots of lacing. Roast grain aroma, burnt toast. Taste adds some coffee bitterness, dark and roasty. Another stellar beer from BB.

luttonm (6835) - Seattle, Washington, USA - MAY 2, 2017
Cooper’s, Seattle. Soft gray foam on a rich black brown Ale body. Very well balanced from nose to sip. Fair mix of green pine resin and a toasty base. Body feels like a rich IPA. If I were drinking this truly blind I would presume it is an IPA. But there is plenty of roast too. Refreshing and tasty. Very nice CDA.

Pours a finger of head on a black body.
The aroma is pine, roasted malt and grapefruit. Great balance.
The taste is pine bitterness with malt to balance.
The texture is crisp.
An easy drinking and nice brew.

theisti (4219) - Kansas, USA - NOV 11, 2015
10 oz draft at Belmont Station in Portland, Oregon. The pour is a dark black brown with a small khaki head that leaves behind nice lace. The aroma is a soft toasted bread malt, along with pine and grass hops. The taste is a delicate balance between the toasted softly roasted bready malt and the fresh clean pine and grass hops. The palate is medium bodied with active natural carbonation and a cleanly bitter toasted pine finish. Delicious.
