Bottle. Dark amber in color, with slight white head. Very little head. Nutty, malty aroma. Slight nut taste to start with a bit of malty. Medium body. Taste builds, then leaves a nice dry aftertaste with a hint of hops.

Bit nutty, toasted and OK. Nothing to write home about, with just something a bit hard to put your finger on that was out of place. Reminded me a bit of Franziskaner Dark that some people call "funky" but its just a bit of odd chocolate mixed in. Bit murky as well. From a case of their sampler.

Toasted grain nose, brown color. Nutty grain flavors at first, caramel sweetness. Like the Schwarzbier there was a butter note that I didntlike.

Bottle. Roast and slight toffee with nuttiness with some white wine notes. Nice toast malt. Amber body with heavy visible carbonation and rich, rocky, soapy beige head. Fruity, slightly sour taste with a strong dry yeastiness. Medium body. May have suffered a bit from advanced age; not really a worthy take.

thinnish flavor which is quite nutty and somewhat bitter with a mildly sustaining flavor. refreshing and watery at the same time! a bit scotchy in the aroma. touch of quality sweetness which has not been overdone. nothing to brag about but quite enjoyable indeed! creamy consistancy.

sampler at the brewpub. Vanilla and caramel in the aroma. Taste is stale malts, vanilla and butter- pretty bad diacetyl, not good.

Ick, not good. Sort of a sour flavor, thin body, really lacking the full flavor of a good brown ale. Bitter finish... will pass on this next time.

Draught @ Camelback mountain ski lodge (right down the road from the brewery). Darker brown with an odd, but acceptable darker malt aroma. Taste was passable. but a bit too grainy and unrefined. Drinkable, but not very good at all. These guys dont seem to put that much effort in - maybe Iron Hill will open up a place nearby and straighten these guys out.
