Clear brown with a crackling tan head. Buttery (diacetyl) nose with some bitterness. Thin, tangy, sour flavor with diacetyl.

bottle thanks to lou. sweet smelling brown ale, lots of vanilla and chocolate notes in the aroma as well. almost artificially sweet, but not too over-the-top luckily. very sweet, very thin--less attenuation and more everything else would help this beer. a session brew for sure.

on tap at bcbc, weak caramel aroma on a golden brown body with very little head. flavor had some nice caramel tones, with a bit of spices. mouthfeel was slightly creamy. nothing special about this beer, it wasnt bad, but as far as the sampler i was having went, it didnt excite me at all.

Brownish ruby pour. Nutty caramel aroma, hints of cinamon. Interesting muted hop flavor, and slightly bitter. Touch of sour bite, very light carbonation. Seems a bit thin. Thx to Lou18 for the trade!

Suttree (6392) - Knoxville, Tennessee, USA - MAR 7, 2005
Brown, with a red tint, good sized biege head. Cinnamon toasty aroma, with a bit chocolate thrown in for good measure. Toas and bread flavors up front, with a mellow hop bit at the finish. I didn’t get any of the sourness that some the raters experienced. Thanks to Lou18 for the trade!

Brown color, off-white head with nice lacing around the glass, toffee & caramel in the aroma, bready flavors with notes of more caramel, toffee & brown sugar, pretty well-balanced, nice hop character to the body, smooth finish with more notes of caramel & sweet malt

yet another bonus brew from doclock.poured out a "brown" color with a small white head.smelled of cinnamon, ginger bread, and brown sugar.as for the taste...?SOUR!!!!im not sure if this is normal but it tastes skunked to me....i think this is going down the drain.

Lou18 (1353) - West Paterson, New Jersey, USA - FEB 22, 2005
Tap at the pub. Poured a light brown. Nutty aroma, sweet and malty. This was a little light in mouth feel, but had a smoothness to make it a possible session brew.

egajdzis (6589) - Pennsburg, Pennsylvania, USA - DEC 22, 2004
Poured a reddish caramel color with a small, off white head that left very light lacing on the glass. Butterscotch, diactyl, nuts, citrus hop aroma. Dry, citrus hop taste, light fruitiness, sweet malt and little cardboard. Average mouthfeel. Not bad.
