On tap at the Rochester pub. This beer pours a nearly opaque ruby red colour with a thick robust head, and impeccable lacing. The beer has a big malt caramel smell to it. Upon tasting it the first thing I notice is the tartness from the cherries, however the cherry flavour is not overpowering. There are notes of chocolate as well, giving the beer almost a black forest cake like taste to it. As the beer warms up, you can taste notes of coffee and caramel. The beer has a satisfying dry finish, probably due to the tartness of the cherries. I can definitely drink a lot of this beer! Well done Barley Days!
(Rating #7164) AleRider78 (1409) - Winchester, Ontario, CANADA - APR 10, 2016
Picked up a 500ml bottle from the brewery. Pours a huge frothy beige head and has a vert dark amber/coppery appearance. Some thick dirty lacing remains. Aromas are malty, some earthy type hops and also has the cherry notes, quite subtle. Flavours are mostly roasted malts, fruity, hints of plums. The cherries are fairly apparent but more in the finish. Not bad. cfrancis (3535) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - APR 26, 2015
Pours black with a small beige head than reduces to a ring. Aroma is light cherry and roasted malts. Taste is a little thin bodied, really light cherry sweetness and roasted malt where I was expecting it to be much more prominent. samzim (437) - Ontario, CANADA - APR 23, 2015
Faint sour aroma with cherry notes. Opaque dark burgundy colour. Faint cherry flavour with flavour of dark roasted malt and caramel notes. Medium in body and carbonation. A fine beer, but the flavours were a bit too subtle. Ferris (16270) - Burnaby, British Columbia, CANADA - DEC 28, 2014
Bottle - Dark chocolate and sweet cherry. Deep jet brown with almost no head. Dark roast and light cherry sweetness with a toast finish. A little cough syrup like for my taste.

On tap at the Atomic Rooster.
Appearance: Pours dark black with a trace of tan head.
Aroma: Roasted malt, bit of chocolate.
Flavours: Light roasted malt, moca, hint of cherry.
Mouthfeel: Thinner body with very light carbonation.
Overall: This one was a nice porter with a hint of cherry. It wasn’t too sweet and the flavours worked well together. Overall, well done and worth trying. OOKPIKABLE (193) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - NOV 11, 2014
Pours dark. Aroma of coffee, chocolate and cherries. Tastes of same. Chocolate and cherry aftertaste with a certain sourness. pushkinwow (2887) - Ottawa, CANADA - JAN 10, 2014
On tap at the Atomic Rooster. Nice mahogany with some beige head. Definite cherry but happy that its not the cough syrup variety, maybe because of the relatively low ABV, some roasted malt with a bit of bittersweet chocolate. Moderate carbonation and mild+ body, easy to drink and not overwhelming, semi malty finish with a bit more cherry. solidfunk (9363) - Washington D.C., Washington DC, USA - DEC 5, 2013
Pours cloudy dark without any head or lacing. Aroma of cherry with some bitter chocolate. Average carbonation. Components don’t come together super well. Finishes bitter with light sour note. Tap at Wellington Gastropub. jimmay (807) - Waterloo, Ontario, CANADA - MAR 29, 2013
355 ml bottle from the brewery, thanks to Jason. Pours deep brown, almost black. Tan head, which quickly dissipates. Some chocolately malt flavour and cherry. NOt bad.
