2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pours solid orange color, decent head and lots of chunks floating around as well. Head dispersed rather quickly though. Kinda sour and too bitter for my tasting, glad I didnt buy the 6pack of this.
Draft to taster at Deer Creek. Looks solid; a completely transparent pale caramelish orange with eggshell head that steadily dissipates into lacing. Smells and tastes of cat piss and grassy hops with a medium-bodied mouthfeel. Okay. Weevo (175) - Indiana, USA - AUG 4, 2015
Bottle, clear amber pour, nice white head. Hop and grapefruit on the nose. Citrus and floral to taste. Exceeds my Ibu limit but not bad otherwise.

12oz bottle, pulled from the cooler at Kahn’s on Keystone. Clear orange amber color. Thin off-white head. Leaves good ridges of lace. Caramel, biscuity bready malt sort of dominates the flavor, though it’s not awful sweet. Just moderate sweet (a bit too much sweet). Light bitterness. A little bit of piney hop heat on the end. Medium body. Kind of crisp, lighter carbonation. Slick finish. Not a great IPA, as it is. Tastes too malty and sweet to be fresh. No date on the bottle though, so what can anyone do. peterschreurs (113) - Illinois, USA - OCT 10, 2014
Mediocre at best. Didn't have the solid hop flavor that I was looking for.

Pours a clear orange with a reddish hue and about half a finger of light slightly-off-white head. Orange peel and a bit of acidity in the aroma. A medium bitter taste with a hint of caramel and citrus that fades into a strongly bitter aftertaste with some burnt toast to it. The hops aren’t overly present, it tastes more like a mildly strong amber. boxofrane (2553) - Spring City, Pennsylvania, USA - NOV 12, 2013
Bottle. Pours clear deep orange with a small white head that hangs around for a couple minutes. The aroma has some orange, grapefruit, maybe some light pineapple. There is a decent bit of floral notes as well. The taste has a medium, dry bitterness with a resiny hop bite, followed by nice balance of sweet pear and grapefruit. Exceeded expectations. 12 oz. bottle in trade with Fletche00. Hazy orange color, with a thin, beige head. The aroma is honey, floral hops, brown sugar, orange peels, and some light rye. Very nicely balanced flavor. Somehow both very sweet and very bitter. The aftertaste is mild and pleasant bitterness. Medium to heavy body, grainy, and just a little astringent and clingy. Overall, this is an excellent malty IPA. The grain bill is in perfect balance with the hopping, leaving a complex and delicious beer. nuplastikk (6313) - Madison, Wisconsin, USA - OCT 7, 2013
12oz bottle. Frankly, after my previous two Barley Island beers opening with an infected gush, I’m pretty happy with this one. Unfiltered orange-tan, thin white head. Earthy mellow hop aroma, kind of reminiscent of an APA. Kind of has a lemon-lime touch. Pretty decent, standard brewpub IPA. A touch of English character. Drinkable, toasty malt backbone. OK. Aroma: Grapefruit/orange hop profile with a bit of pineapple; malt profile of cereal with some caramel. Appearance: Hazy copper with a bubbly white head that quickly dissipated. Flavor: Matches the nose; fresh, fruity hop profile with a bit more caramel/cereal in the finish; pleasantly sweet with low residual bitterness. Palate: Medium body, sticky texture, average carbonation, long finish. Overall: Surprised by the quality of this IPA; outside of the unsightly appearance it’s a rather nice beer.
