On tap at the brew pub into a pint. "Not quite Imperial and a bit more than a standard stout, our Extra Stout showcases large quantities of Roasted Barley malt and English Fuggle Hops. A bit drier and sharper than our Old 8 Porter - just as dark and just as delicious!"
A light black with only a hint of brown when held to the light. A nice tan head at first, but this fades way to quickly without any lacing...Aroma of sweet malty chocolate and vanilla, its nice and alluring just not enough depth to get me really excited...The taste is roasted chocolate with alcohol, boring and not a ton going on.

On tap at the brewpub. Poured a clear really dark brown with a tan head that dissipated to the edges and laced. Aroma was full of dry roasted malts with a bit of chocolate and coffee. Flavor was full of roasted malts with a slight bit of coffee and the beer dried out in the finish. JaBier (7973) - Capital City, Ohio, USA - NOV 14, 2010
Sample at the brewpub on 10/30/10. Pours black with a medium tan head. Sweet and grainy nose with roast and chocolate. Malty flavor with chocolate, dark fruit and a bitter roasty finish. badgerben (5180) - Blaine, Minnesota, USA - NOV 6, 2010
Black color with a very thin head. Light fruit and roast aroma. An oddly strong apple/pear fruit taste, but not in an infected way. Moderate roastiness with some hop bite. piscator34 (2534) - Winnipeg, Manitoba, CANADA - OCT 25, 2010
On draft at the brewpub. Black in colour with moderate carbonation. Aromas are of coffee, flint, caramel, and a touch of chocolate. Well balanced in the mouth between coffee, chocolate, ash, flint, and caramel notes. Medium bodied and quite smooth inspite of all of the roasted notes. Not a mind blowing or unique beer, but it’s a stout that has been brewed with a lot of finesse.

Pours a dark brown with a thin tan head. Aroma is roasted malt and hints of chocolate. Flavor is rich and roasty featuring roasted malt, caramel, chocolate, light coffee, and hints of nuts and wood with alcohol masked nicely. Relatively light, almost watery body with soft carbonation. Good but not a great stout.
