At winterfest, and also from a growler from Bacterial. Thanks Jeff! Pour is a slightly hazy muted copper , with a spare off white head that fades to just a ring. Aroma is wet grain, light smoke, some herbal hops. Taste is grainy smoke, with some nice caramel (very light), toast, finishing with some sweet malt. Finish is clean and slightly bitter. This one stuck out for me at Winterfest, glad to see that a second taste holds up. Really well made beer in a style I haven’t tried much before. Digging this one. Winterfest 2013. Some smoke aroma and also in the flavor. Wheat sweetness and malt that combines well with the smoke. Good. Dark brown color. ryanfolty (2655) - Bourbon County, Minnesota, USA - FEB 3, 2013
On tap at Winterfest 2013. Dark orange pour with limited head. This worked for me, but I like smokey flavors and wheat beers. bluemooner (657) - East Bethel, Minnesota, USA - JAN 19, 2013
Pours a hazy orange with a small white head. Aroma is wheat and smokey notes. Flavor is wheat with light grassy hops and citrus and smokey notes with smoke on the finish. Medium body with medium carbonation. Interesting. BVery (11458) - Plymouth, Minnesota, USA - JAN 8, 2013
Tap at the brewpub. This is a smoked German wheat beer - orange pour with a spotty white head. Smoke is very faint, and it finishes a bit dry. Not bad though.
