Can (labeled as Maibock Fruhling Starkbier); pour clear amber with a khaki head; aroma of caramel and toasted malt with some citrus hints; taste is similar with caramel, toasted malt and the citrus being a little more prevalent than the aroma; dry, light bitter finish; pretty good deyholla (12034) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - MAY 29, 2015
Sampled from the tap at the brewpub. Pours a clear burnt orange with a white head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has and nice bread note with a slight sweetness and a bit of doughiness. Flavor has a nice lightly sweet bread note with a touch of grain backing. redbeard3 (107) - - MAY 17, 2014
Poured into a tall lager class at brewpub. White foamy head that laced nicely. Clear amber red color. Toasty and well balanced with a great finish. Clean flavors all around without a harsh booziness found in some maibocks. csaso (2315) - Missouri, USA - APR 30, 2014
Tap - small foamy head, nice medium copper color, creamy and balanced - mildly sweet malt and earthy and citrus hop notes, very good for a maibock

Tap at the brewpub. Hazy copper pour with a monster frothy cream colored head. Sweet malty nose. Taste is dark fruits and a caramel sweetness. One of the better Maibocks I’ve had for sure.

Pours a nice amber with a small off-white head. Aroma is rich fruit and wheat. Flavor is a lot of sweet fruit, berries and citrus with hints of toffee and sugary wheat. Medium body with soft carbonation and a nice creamy mouthfeel. Great brew. nellycale (213) - Caledonia, Minnesota, USA - MAY 7, 2013

Growler pour thanks to portableparty. Clear dark amber pour, good carbonation and a sweet malty aroma. Flavor is caramelly malt, sweet brown sugar and slightly dry on the aftertaste. A very good maibock, but not Barley John’s best offering. portableparty (2379) - Blaine, Minnesota, USA - MAY 29, 2011
Growler pour. Pour is clear copper with a sticky off white head that showed some lacing. Aroma is sweet spiced malt and faint bitterness. Taste is sweet and malty with a nice fruit and spice taste going on. Palate is medium and sticky and finishes dry. Solid, I like! maniac (3800) - Baltimore, Maryland, USA - MAY 27, 2009
