Brown color. Tall, white head. Malt and moderate hops, but the best quality of this beer is the thick, syrup-like palate. Not as big or flavorful as I thought a limited edition beer might be from Barley Johns. Very hoppy for the style. Skyview (6099) - Papoose Jct, Minnesota, USA - OCT 3, 2008
On draught during ABR ’08 in Minneapolis, MN. Pours a hazy caramel amber brew with a creamy beige head that slowly dissipates to a thin ring. Aroma of caramel malt, some tart apple, herbal spice and a touch of white pepper. Taste is medium bodied, with minimal carbonation with flavors of grapefruit, apples and a hint of caramel malt, Finish is quite bitter with plenty of grapefruit and citrus aftertaste. A little more hoppy to be an amber ale but it is one I will remember. badgerben (5316) - Blaine, Minnesota, USA - SEP 30, 2008
Autumn Brew Review 2008. Dark copper color with a medium head. Some wheatish aroma and a bit of spice. Sweet grain body, lightly bitter with some piney hops. No clue what style this would be, but it’s tasty enough. grimreeser (797) - Minnesota, USA - SEP 29, 2008
ABR 2008. Aroma of caramel, citrus, spicy. This one is a little more bitter than I like. stankenk (130) - Maplewood, Minnesota, USA - SEP 28, 2008
ABR ’08 - Pours a dark amber with off white head. The nose was apples and spice. Came across the palate very bitter with tons of grapefruit in the sweet finish. There was also hints of spiced caramel in it. It was okay.

On tap at the brewpub. Dark amber body with an off white head. The aroma was funky apples and spicing. Almost like a spiced cider, clove and cinnamon. The taste was pretty bitter with lots of grapefruit in the sweet finish. There was also a spiced up caramel happening in it. Decent, but not very smooth.
