2016/2017 version, which was closer to 8.5%. Tap at Sidedoor. Deep and sweet. As much of a brown ale as an amber. Winter Warmer all the way; Big, full bodied, rich malt tones. Steady off-white to beige head. Fennel and caramel lend an odd, earthy aroma. Amber and caramel malts, pleasant spice tone. Nails it. Great Winter Warmer.

On tap at the brewpub. Pours a clear deep amber with a foamy off white head that dissipates to the edges and laces. Aroma has notes of bread and grain with a bit of fennel coming through. Flavor has sweet grains with a hint of light fruit and a bit of caraway coming through.

Tap - big creamy head, beautiful dark Amber color, malty aroma and flavor, good piney hop bitterness, some kind of spice going on there but can't quite place it, a little bit of a dry finish, good overall ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Ruby-copper pours with a thin, off-white head. Aroma is bready with spices and hops. Flavor is bready with hints of raisins, caramel, licorice, hops, and other spices. Medium body with good carbonation and the alcohol is masked nicely. Pretty tasty and rather unique brew overall.
