Clear orange. Another sweet malty nose of bubble gum and corn. Sharp hops and grain in the flavor, leading to a dull pale malt finish. A little spicy at times, with rye or wheat or something. A little alcohol in the nose as it warms. bitter (1136) - Henderson, Nevada, USA - MAY 3, 2004
had this last weekend at barleys on tap: orange tan color with little to now white head. very difficult to get any nose out of this, as most of there beer. musty sweetness. in the mouth not much going on. very sweet and maybe a slight crystal malt flavor. not a good maibock. jazz88 (2699) - San Francisco, California, USA - JUL 28, 2003
Tap @ Reno Festival. Amber brown color with a light brown head. A toasted malt aroma and flavor. Medium to full bodied. Braudog (6834) - Yorktown, Virginia, USA - JUL 13, 2003
Almost a deep brown color with a still character. The beer is sweet, caramel and vaguely nutty. Not the best Maibock in Vegas by any means. OK. Aubrey (3516) - Bellingham, Washington, USA - JUL 3, 2003
Clear and yellow-gold with a frothy, lasting head ("whipped egg whites" is a pretty accurate description). Nose was sweet and spicy. Lightly crisp and fairly clean mouthfeel. Some watery notes, but not bothersome. Malts were light, husky, grainy, earthy and cracker-like with an underlying sweetness that matched nicely. I found the beer pleasant to drink and rather refreshing. It also had a nice amount of bitterness to balance things out and keep it interesting. As far as "Summer Beers" go, it wasn’t a bad one.
