Sample from growler. Pours dark brown with a medium foamy beige head that recedes gradually to a dense film. Patchy lacing. Aroma of chocolate, roasted malt and vanilla. Medium-bodied with a chocolate malted milkshake flavor and notes of vanilla and coffee as well. The finish is sweet with a cocoa and malt aftertaste. Above average overall.

Sampled on draft at the brewpub this beer poured a dark brown color with red highlights and a medium sized creamy orange-tan head that left excellent lacing. The aroma was malty, toasty, woody and slightly bitter. The flavor was toasty caramel, honey and vague fruits. Medium length finish. Medium body and smooth. Pleasant. Sample at World of Beer Brewery District 7/19/14. Clear brown in color with a thick tan head. Aroma of sweet malt, vanilla, caramel and some chocolate. Chocolate and malt flavor with vanilla bean sweetness before a bitter, roasty finish. Well done.
