Aroma: Roasted malts, caramel, some chocolate, nuts, toast, grains, and a little earth
Appearance: The pour is dark brown-black in color with a foamy lasting light brown head
Flavor: The taste is fairly malty, roasty, some coffee flavors, touch of smoke, and some earthy hops
Palate: The body is medium leaning full with a slightly tingly feel. This is some fairly drinkable stuff
This is my first beer from this brewery under the Baron name, but I have had a couple of the Three Skulls name. Anyway, this was a pretty solid one. Drinkable and with a solid flavor. Some nice stuff.
On tap. POured a dark ruby color with a light white head. Smelled of toasted malts and malts. Tasted a bit watered down but still had a good nutty, toasted maly backbone. Oakes (18199) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - SEP 11, 2005
Hazy dark brown colour. Very fresh malty aroma - it is a Baron beer after all. Light coffee flavour, fairly light but again quite fresh. Lacks the depths of dark malt I’d expect in a schwarzbier...it’s more of a dunkel but even then the freshness is more accented than the complexity. beerguy101 (5360) - Newark, California, USA - NOV 5, 2006
This Schwarzbier pours a deep brown color from a 22oz bottle. Small sized white foamy head. Aroma is chocolate and roasty malts with a touch of earthy hops. Medium to lighter bodied dark lager. Malts are roasty and semi-sweet chocolate. Hops are earthy and floral. Somewhat toasty and nutty tasting. Nice balance. Good carbonation. This beer reminds me of the generic “dark beer”, simple, good and drinkable. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and crisp. Aftertaste is slightly bitter and a touch roasty. Black ale ,with a nice sized thick ,frothy tan head.
nice malt centered aroma, sorty of toffeeish in character.
Again malt driven taste, semi-sweet, caramel, English toffee , some tingle of hopping below all this but barely there, like "DA" I find a slight smokiness almost in the aftertaste.
Ok on the palate, low carbonated and smooth.
Not my favourite style, but i found this nice and easy to drink.

On tap, was a real solid beer with good roasty flavor some sweetness and bitterness to linger on and enjoy. Basically a pretty decent drink with not too much going on in any direction, but a nice package backed up by how fast I saw it disappear before me. Dark bronwy red beer with decent head. Aroma is toasty and malty with a touch of caramel. Beer is thin roasty with a touch of choclate and smoke at the finish. Good easy drinker. bhensonb (15497) - Woodland, California, USA - JUL 25, 2008
Bomber from Sondra. Blackish color with ruby translucence. Beige head that left quickly. Aromas of dark roasted malt and perhaps coffee and chocolate notes. Near medium body with light, fizzy carbonation. Flavor is lightly sour dark roast malt. Finish is rather balanced. Fairly refreshing. AmEricanbrew (6878) - Same Trailer, Different Park, Louisiana, USA - AUG 13, 2008
Black with a viscous brown head. Yeasty, dry, black malt aroma. Medium body. Creamy smooth dark malt flavors are mildly sweet with a taste of earthy molasses. Very little if any bitterness in the finish. Glug glug burp burp best describes this beers drinkability. VitaminR (540) - Colorado, USA - AUG 21, 2008
Smoky chocolate nose. Blackish brown, with medium head. Chocolate smoke sweetness, with mild hop bitterness. Fizzy, light to medium body, semi-clean finish. This seemed like a "Porter Light", interesting and refreshing dark beer.
