The first beer released is the Wattle Seed Ale, which starts with a blend of Australian and European malts, creating a rich flavour base of caramel with a hint of chocolate. The smooth malt flavours are lightly hopped and then infused with roasted Wattle Seed, bringing a unique and authentic Australian flavour to this fine red ale. The result is an outstanding ale that boasts a smooth taste profile balancing its robust character, an ultimately rewarding yet distinctive beer. Native Range. Formerly Barons Black Wattle Superior Wattle Seed Ale.

Bottle from State Line. Medium brown pour with 1-finger off-white head. Aroma is roasty malt, some brown sugar, and some nutty notes. Tastes malty, not sweet, with some hops, brown sugar, and nutty notes. Not a repeater for me.

clear brown/amber under a huge creamy off-white head. malty aroma of an amber ale or a vienna. light toffee and malty, nutty, brown sugar flavors.

Medium amber colored body with a light khaki colored head. The aroma is amaretto with some caramel. The taste is rich with some toffee and fall leaves. There is a nice undertone of apple cores. The smooth light body helps makes this drinkable. This is a lot like a marzen and a nice brew.

Really enjoyed this unique beer! Awesome twist to it with the wattle. Caramel and chocolate add great compliments slightly malty beer. Would buy again in a second.

This looks like Coca Cola in the glass. Nice yeasty aroma and pleasantly robust flavor. I’m not sure what wattle seeds taste like, or if it is good idea to eat them, but this brew tastes a bit like a dunkel or a schwarzbier - roasted grains, caramel, smooth, with a hint of herbs, and a mild aftertaste. Very nice.

i’m not a big fan of wattle seed and definately not in my beer. It’s just not a good match in my opinion. But if you like wattle seed and beer you might fancy this drop.

Bottle poured a clear brown with a small diminishing tan head. Aromas of tootsie roll, carmel, light nuts and a hint of toffe. Palate was light bodied and smooth. Flavors of milk chocolate, light carmel and a hint of nuts with a crisp lightly dry malty finish.

dchmela (3088) - Orlando, Florida, USA - SEP 12, 2007
Pours out the color of thin coffee with a minimal head. Roasted hazelnut aroma with a touch of sweetness. Taste has the same roasted maltiness in it. Very smooth easy drink, not overpowering. Worth a try.

Floback (550) - Indianapolis, Indiana, USA - SEP 8, 2007
Snagged a 6-er at Publix. Poured dark amber and 2 cm. of tan head with an off-white rim. Great lacing. Nose is roasted malt, honey, and caramel. My mouth received notes of banana, clove, more caramel, slight coffee, subtle hops, and cucumber in the finish. Medium carbonation/body. Smooth and refreshing. Not bad.

this was a pretty good beer. daark and sweet roasted malt flavor. While drinking it I couldn’t figure out what kind of a beer this was, but none the less I enjoyed it.
