COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Barrel 45 was filled in September of 2010 with Racer 5 IPA and over ten pounds of freshly picked Yakima valley Columbus hops. Refermented with wild yeast and bacteria, it is now a floral, fruity, slightly tart and funky American wild ale.

A really nice clear amber colour and rich malty and hoppy nose. Taste is also hoppy and rich on malty. Light sweet but with bitterness on the palate.

At Snallygaster. Apparently Bear Republic can make anything with hops work. The wild yeast seems like it should have stomped all over the wet hops, but they complement each other wonderfully. Not so much funk that you wouldn?t think about ordering a second, either.

Draft. Cloudy golden yellow color, large cream colored head. Aroma of funky peaches. Taste is very sour stone fruit.

Draft at Rustico Alexandria. Poured a nice relatively clear amber/orange color with a small off-white head. Aroma was ton of hop notes, some funky Bretty notes. Quite interesting, enjoyable. Liked it a lot.

Draft. Medium off-white head atop hazy amber body. Aroma is medium sweet, grapefruit, some orange, Brett/funk, light cherry. Taste is medium sweet, grapefruit, some orange, light funk, Brett. Medium body, some effervescence, light resin, acidity. No idea what led them to try making this, but hats off for both the effort and the result.

Not really an IPA as advertised on the beer selections on the chalk board at Sundance Cinema bar in Houston. However, it has an earthy, dark smooth taste. Overall out of the bottle a pleasant experience.
