This golden Lager is brewed using a traditional German decoction mash. By decoction mashing, we are able to achieve a full malt profile that is complemented by the addition of spicy German hops. We condition our Dortmunder for a full eight weeks which allows the malt and hop characteristics within the beer to fuse together. All of these steps are evident in our final product: a medium- bodied golden lager showcasing a delicious malt flavor balanced with a Noble hop character. Malts: 2- Row, Munich 10L, Carapils Hops: Cluster, Hallertau, Tettnang

Draft at Tinas in Cincy. Poured clear dark amber with an average creamy white head that diminished slowly with fair lacing. Moderate cereal malt and tart citrus aroma. Medium body with a slick texture and soft carbonation. Well balanced medium sweet flavor with a light bitter finish of moderate duration. Interesting beer that I have recommended to two freinds to locate and try.

Sample at Brew Kettle: Amber-gold color with a minimal off-white head that manages to last awhile. Thing ring of lacing around the top of the glass. Floral hops, malt and a bit of spice in the nose. Light, clean body with floral hops, earthy malt and fruity flavors. Some underlying sweetness as well. The finish is crisp and lightly bitter. One of the better Dortmunder beers I have had in awhile.

Tap. Semi-hazy orange pour with a foamy white head. Aroma and taste of malt and biscuits. Just okay - nothing great.

22 oz. bottle (notes). Pours a clear golden color with a larger off white head. The aroma is mildly sweet biscuity malt with a hint of lemon citrus and mild hop spiciness. The flavor is more biscuity malt with a touch of honey sweetness. Toward the finish the lemon citrus gets a touch sour which is strange. Slight hints of toasted bread come out. Light-medium bodied with a slightly dry finish.

Draft sample at a Barrel House tasting at Tellers of Hyde Park. Pours clear gold with a medium white head. Aroma of German hops, malts, straw, and honey. Flavor of honey, straw, hops, malts, grass, and spices. Light bodied, sharp, and crisp. Dry finish. Very nice Dortmunder.

Bottle (650ml) shared at Biegamans Summer Gathering -- my bottle courtesy of lewis13. pours a clear yellow-gold with an average size diminishing white head. Simple aroma of mostly caramel malt along with some breadyness, llight grassy hops and faint fruit. Flavours a little sweet with caramel malt, fruit and some light hops. Medium bodied. A pretty good version of the style, I enjoyed it.
