The best of the bunch by far. Not the best Nut Brown I have ever had but just a wonderful beer. You get a pleasant inviting aroma. The taste is a combination of caramel, chocolate and hazelnut. The malt keeps its from being too sweet, and adds a robust flavor to this beer. It finishes very clean. I would be happy to try this again.

UPDATED: DEC 5, 2015 Malty caramel nose with slight treacle-phenolic notes as it warms up. Sweetish with a heavy mouth feel, slight bitter aftertaste. Reminded me of an English midland mild, but at 5.3%, much stronger. Drinkable, but lacking interest.

Bottle from a sixer from a discount grocery. Pours a dark copper with a beige head. Aroma seems a bit malty. Near medium body with somewhat foamy/fizzy carbonation. Flavor is more mild treacle than anything, but there is enough hop of some sort to keep the sweet a bit under control. Maybe there actually is a touch of hazelnut. Hard to be sure.

Bottle from bhensonb. Pours medium brown with a thick beige head and a nondescript aroma. There is a medium-bodied roasted malt flavor with some hazelnut and a slightly bitter finish.

large offwhite frothy head. good lacing. sparkling translucent average-density brown body. aroma: nutty moderate mal and caramel. if and ff: moderate sweet (malty and chocolate). palate: light medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation, metallic finish. No flaws. Good drinkability. Pretty decent considering other Barrel Trolleys I had. 50s

Pours a rootbeer brown color with a tan head that lasts with substantial lacing. Aroma of nuts and caramel with the same taste. Incredibly smooth for a brown ale. Definitely will drink this one again.
