Bottle from a sixer from a discount grocery. Pours a dark copper with a beige head. Aroma seems a bit malty. Near medium body with somewhat foamy/fizzy carbonation. Flavor is more mild treacle than anything, but there is enough hop of some sort to keep the sweet a bit under control. Maybe there actually is a touch of hazelnut. Hard to be sure. 11/26/12. 12oz bottle. Brown pour, more of a clear red under the light, under a small khaki head that fades fast and laces a touch. Slightly tangy and metallic malty aroma with hints of bread, burnt caramel, and nuttiness. Sweet, malty flavor again with a hint of tang and metal and some breadiness and caramel with a lingering nutty aspect... I hadn’t looked at the label until now, but I suppose that’s the hazelnut. Eh.

Flavor has a hint of caramel, a touch of nuttiness, some back end metallic notes. Mouthfeel is a tad thin and tinny. Does in a pinch. dwyerpg (6454) - Las Vegas, Nevada, USA - OCT 12, 2012
This is surprisingly good. Has a definite hazelnut flavor but it isn’t too strong. The best of these barrel trolley beers. burg326 (5613) - Florida, USA - FEB 22, 2013

Muted, tannic aroma. The foam smells doggy. Deep, clear ruby brown, big fluffy bone-colored head, standard US longneck, OK throwback label. Sweetish, clear gel and roast flavor. Unremarkable, but pretty clean drinking. Some tar and cherry in the finish. Medium body, slippery mouthfeel. ABC Liquors, Bull Run. chinchill (5342) - South Carolina, USA - FEB 13, 2013
Poured from a 12 oz bottle (out of Rochester NY) into a Unibroue goblet.
Aroma: Sweet malts. quite sweet but otherwise rather faint. Hints of hazelnuts and toffee.

O: Rather average if light; improves substantially with warming.
