3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Aromas of coffee, toast and pine. Pours out a dark brown with flavors of toasted peanuts, coffee and chocolate with a bitter, slightly piney finish. A bit over carbonated for the style but overall pretty enjoyable.
Reviewed from notes.
The appearance was a nice looking soft semi-dark murky brown color with a finger’s worth of a mocha colored head. Glistens nicely and falls off at a good pace. Light stringy lace.
The aroma had some soft sweet to roasty nuts up front with a nice caramel/toffee malt base rolling into a subtle crisp sweet earthy blend, some grassy dryness.
The flavor brought all of the previously mentioned aromas together riding on into the aftertaste and following through in the finish.
The feel was about medium bodied with a fair sessionable quality about it. Light carbonation with the ABV feeling as projected by the brewer.
Overall, I liked this brown ale, well worthy of having again. anders37 (27062) - Malmö, SWEDEN - OCT 23, 2015

Draft at top hops beer shop. Pours brown with a thin khaki head. Leaves trace lacing. Nice nuttiness on the nose. Very crisp and flavorful on the tongue although the flavor fades a bit as it warms. Still it’s a solid example of the style. pianotu (69) - USA - FEB 13, 2013
Nice chalky bitterness, crisp mouthfeel; not much aroma--easy to drink enough.

On tap pours with a slight head. Brown chestnut color. I'm not a brown ale aficionado but this does grow on me. First sip is transitory, aligning my taste buds for what is to come. Settles into a nice mellow ashen ride. Aftertaste is not smooth but I don't expect this from a brown ale.
