3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Taster at the brewery. Pours copper with quickly diminishing head and no lace. Aroma of pine, caramel, onion, burnt cheddar. Medium body. Taste follows suit. Decent bitterness on the finish.
Draught. Murky reddish brown with very small frothy white head, orange peel aroma, medium carbonation, lightly bitter orange peel taste with rye/caramel, medium thick body, longish bitter finish. Interesting brew. ben4321 (6739) - Hoboken, New Jersey, USA - SEP 2, 2014

Aroma: The aroma is clean and malty, caramel and bread mostly, with some citrus notes
Appearance: This one pours a copper-amber color with a beige head and decent lace
Flavor: The flavor is clean and malty, not overly sweet, with a mild, dull hop presence
Palate: The body is medium, it has a smooth, clean feel, a soft carbonation, and a light dry finish
I thought this was an okay, but a little dull beer. It is plenty drinkable with a nice feel, it just didn’t do enough for me flavor-wise.
Tap. Dark copper color with beige head. Lovely, fresh perfume of green bud, pine train, caramel and light grapefruit. Goddamn, this beer smells nice. Taste is a mild let down, but still enjoyable. Medium body, average carbonation. Great hop undergirding. Tootsie Roll melted in for sweetness. Flavors struggle against each other, need to be reconciled. mansquito (6913) - Nueva York, New York, USA - MAR 23, 2014
Miles, Brooklyn tap ($6): Pours red with an off-white head. Aroma is caramel malts, some lightly fruity hops. Taste is just a tad sweet. Nice underlying hoppiness. Ultimately, I was expecting a tad more. But this was still a nice brew from Barrier.

Light amber body, medium off-white head, spotty lacing. Caramel, pine, and light citrus. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, restrained sweetness for an amber, light bitterness. merc7186 (3160) - North Tonawanda, New York, USA - OCT 26, 2013
A: Dark Amber Hue, Passes Some Light, Cream Colored Head, Great Lacing
S: Piney, Grapefruit, Malty
T: Piney, Malty, Grapefruit
M: Great Carbonation, Medium Bodied, Semi Dry, Mildly Bitter
Overall, a nice IPA...good enough to drink any day but not enough to make you search out as a ’Must Try’. Ajcanon711 (63) - - OCT 17, 2013
Aroma is the best part of this beer. However, that's not to take away from the other redeeming qualities. It's a good overall IPA.
Pours a dark amber/red. Earthy, full bodied.

A reddish copper amber ale with a thin lacing off white head. In aroma, sweet caramel malt with nutty notes, and grassy resinous hops, nice. In mouth, a smooth nutty malt with light roasted notes and resinous hops, decent. On tap at Rattle N Hum. Seanoster (4) - New York, USA - APR 29, 2013 does not count
A Amber ale that never fails. A home for barrier-brewing comp
My personal favorite.
