Pine Box Rock Shop, Brooklyn tap: pours dark brown with a beige head. Aroma is light smoke and maltiness. It seems more like a dunkel than a smoked. Draft at Alewife Queens - NYC. Pours deep brown with a modest, off-white foam head. Nice roast character, some cocoa, plenty of smoked ham. Medium bodied with average carbonation. The appearance is deep brown, reddish tinge, off-white head. The aroma is smoky, salty, some maltyness, fruit. The flavor is smoke, slaty, meaty, dark fruits. The finish is smoky, salty, bacon. Medium in body. Nice.

tap at gingerman. Pour is dark and opaque. Toasted barley hulls and crisp grain. dark chocolate and prunes on the body. Charcoal and smokey bacon bits come up in the aftertaste. Growler from brewery. Clear mber with short-lived head, looks like Schlenkerla. Smokey meaty caramel and bread aroma. Smokey caramel minimal fruit noble grassy medium bitter clean finish. Medium body very slight extra fizziness. Absolutely right on the nugget to my specific subjective beer tastes. Look, I don’t ask for much. Just a nice sessionable smoke beer to drink every day. My local brewery makes TWO FRIGGING AWESOME SESSION SMOKE BEERS!!! WHOOHOOO!!!!!!!
