Nice brown color with some spicy stuff in there. Malt and spice. Malt and spice. This is a good beer to have in the fall...that could be why it’s an octoberfest type of beer.
Cask sample at the source. The beer is a clear amber with a beige head of foam. The aroma has toffee, nuts, and some fruity notes. Sweet and a bit spicy. Sweet at first, dries out in the finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Leighton (22823) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - SEP 24, 2015
Bottle shared in CT. pours clear copper with a subtle white foam head. The nose has simple toasty malts, caramel. Medium sweet flavor with toasty biscuits, cereal, dry caramel, faint leafy hops. Light to medium bodied with fine carbonation. Finishes sweet, with further toasty cereal and caramel. Basic festbier. Fine. ericnixon (745) - Portland, Oregon, USA - NOV 13, 2006
22oz bottle. Lighter brown color. Spicy aroma reminiscent of autumn. Nice mix of hoppy characteristics and the malty. Not too in-your-face, yet not too wimpy or watery like their other beers. Pretty good. MaBeer1972 (2208) - Reno, Nevada, USA - SEP 20, 2003
Just introduced to the brewery menu today, or so I was told by the barman. Medium reddish amber color, a little lighter than some in this style that I am used to. The flavor has that characteristic malty sweetness, but it's quite subtle. A little hoppy bite, but not much at all. Smooth drinking, yes, but nothing overly exciting. Had that same "woody" quality of the Brown Ale I tried.
