Cask half-pint at the brewpub on 10th Oct 2014. Golden and clear with a white topping. Not a huge lot going on to be honest, a solid enough session Bitter with mild flavours, biscuity malts and weak hop notes sum up the total of the beers assets. Of the three I tried while there this came third in my scoring.

Cask, handpump at the brewpub, The Exeter Arms, Barrowden, Rutland, whilst cycling in this Rutland Water area 14.05.11 Pours dark gold with good clarity and with a white rim of bubbles. Big dollop of Burton Snatch on the nose. Soft bitterness in the mouth, some tangy fruit, bit of appleskin. Nice beer and great improvement on the Hopgear and the Owngear A6 A4 T7 P3 Ov13 3.3

As Barrowden Beech, The Exeter Arms, Barrowden, but presumably the same recipe. Pale and yellowy. Brasher hop bite than the Hop Gear, but less aromatic. Some malt nuttiness and grainy wood notes. Flattish with vanilla afters, and a dry finish. Too much shampoo.

A mid gold coloured beer with a weak head. A fruity malt aroma, slightly caramelled. The taste is dry, fruity and malty, some caramel and coffee flavours come through in to a dry finish. (Cask - The 2006 Peterborough Beer Festival).
