Cask @ Exeter Arms, Barrowden. Copper with a small bubbly head. Lightly malty session ale. Easy drinking. BlackHaddock (7690) - Shropshire, ENGLAND - OCT 12, 2014
Cask half-pint at the brewpub on 10th Oct 2014. Golden and clear with a white topping. Not a huge lot going on to be honest, a solid enough session Bitter with mild flavours, biscuity malts and weak hop notes sum up the total of the beers assets. Of the three I tried while there this came third in my scoring.

Cask, handpump at the brewpub, The Exeter Arms, Barrowden, Rutland, whilst cycling in this Rutland Water area 14.05.11 Pours dark gold with good clarity and with a white rim of bubbles. Big dollop of ’Burton Snatch’ on the nose. Soft bitterness in the mouth, some tangy fruit, bit of appleskin. Nice beer and great improvement on the ’Hopgear’ and the ’Owngear’ A6 A4 T7 P3 Ov13 3.3 madmitch76 (25568) - , Essex, ENGLAND - NOV 11, 2009
UPDATED: NOV 12, 2009 On tap at the Exeter Arms in Barrowden. Soft palate, light biscuity malt and soft hops. Easy drinking. DruncanVeasey (8283) - Nr NUNEATON, Warwickshire, ENGLAND - MAR 30, 2008
As ’Barrowden Beech’, The Exeter Arms, Barrowden, but presumably the same recipe. Pale and yellowy. Brasher hop bite than the Hop Gear, but less aromatic. Some malt nuttiness and grainy wood notes. Flattish with vanilla afters, and a dry finish. Too much shampoo. StueyD (1586) - Heacham, Norfolk, ENGLAND - AUG 23, 2006
A mid gold coloured beer with a weak head. A fruity malt aroma, slightly caramelled. The taste is dry, fruity and malty, some caramel and coffee flavours come through in to a dry finish. (Cask - The 2006 Peterborough Beer Festival). RichardGretton (4787) - Leicestershire, ENGLAND - MAR 25, 2005

Amber looking beer with a slightly fruity aroma but generally dry. The flavour is dry with a slight coffee finish. Overall a good dry beer.
