COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our flagship India Pale Lager showcases a copper color that gives way to a crisp, clean lager beer perfectly balanced in its massive complexity. Dry-hopped and aged on an in-house toasted blend of white and red oaks. The IPL finishes clean and smooth, with hop aromas of wild flowers and pine, and a unique maltiness highlighted by the subtle oak character.

Poured into a lager glass, the appearance was a mellow burnt amber to orange color with a finger’s worth of white foamy head. Just trickled off pretty quick, some messy lace. The aroma had some freshly cut grass, light citrus, fresh pine needles and a light caramel malt/bready base. The flavor resided with some hop bitterness, somewhat bitter yet sweet through the pine and citrus. Light citrusy to piney and bready aftertaste. Quick hoppy finish, somewhat bitter. The palate was almost medium bodied, just seemed to be a touch under with a fair sessionability about it. Carbonation felt fine. ABV felt good. Overall, pretty good India pale lager that I could have again.

Barreras (1689) - Diamond Bar, California, USA - JAN 8, 2017
Pours a light neon caramel color with a small floral aroma. Taste is caramel, hops, and toast. A nice mix and medley of flavors similar to the aroma. A slight bitterness in the aftertaste with a full mouthfeel after the swallow.

12 oz. can. Amber color with a slight hazy appearance. Aroma of caramel, earthy hops, mellow pine.

Flavor shows bready malt with a caramel base. As the lager warms the bitterness becomes slightly abrasive with earthy hops. Lighter bodied, with a dry texture. As I sipped it and it warmed the flavor wasn’t nearly as pleasant. Drink cold. Not bad but it will never be a repeat buy.

Average frothy offwhite head. Good lacing. Mostly diminishing. Flat average-density amber body. Aroma: moderate malty, grain, caramel, light hoppy, pine. Initial flavor: moderate sweet light bitter. Final flavor: moderate bitter; average duration. Palate: light medium body, watery/oily texture, lively carbonation, metallic finish. dulçor maltado, caramelado, mais acentuado que outras do estilo. Amargor lupulado aparece no final, contrabalanceando o forte dulçor maltado do início.
