3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
22 oz aluminum bottle from "Lifesource" in Salem.
Handsome looking beer here..black,pitch black body and a lovely thick and creamy tan head.
Aroma quite delicate, chocolate( milky) sweetness resembling marshmallow and toasted malts.
Taste is much the same as the aroma with the addition of strong brewed coffee.
Mouth feel is quite lively for the style and has a great bitter coffee after taste that lasts for ever or so it seems.
Nice winter drink and nice bottle..need to find a top i can use this for a great camping water bottle.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
virtually none but frothy and offwhite head. virtually none lacing. mostly diminishing. flat thick black body. aroma: heavy roasted malty, dark chocolate, mild coffee. initial and final flavors: moderate sweet and moderate bitter; long duration. High residual sweetness from unfermented sugars enhances the full-tasting mouthfeel. Leves lembrança de café e chocolate meio amargo, em bem menor escala que no aroma. Cerveja “forte”, de baixa drinkability. Mais lupulada que a média. 90 s

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
22 oz. Aluminum can purchased at One Stop Market. Thin lasting mocha head on top a pitch black stout. Aroma is a chocolate, roasted grain, milk sugar, and a hint of smoke.
Flavor of is burnt malt, chocolate, barley, and some light bitterness. The smoke hits with a pretty heathy character after the sip. (A tad smoky for my own tastes) but the whole "campfire, vanilla and chocolate" essence does work here. Body is thin and the smoke lingers strongly as it warms. Just ok.

Sample at the "Northeastern vs Northwestern Brewery Tasting" on 10/29/2016. Dark brown color with a medium thin tan head that recedes steadily to an outer ring. Small patches of lacing. Chocolate, malt and coffee aroma. Medium body with flavors of roasted malt, cocoa and coffee. The finish is slightly smoky with a chocolate malt aftertaste. Above average overall.
