Bottle from the Davis Co-Op. Mild sweet malt and coffee aroma. Pours dark brown with a tan head. Thin bodied. Flavor is light burnt malt and coffee. Goes to thin ashy burnt malt. Sad to see the red triangle on such a poor effort. Drake (14058) - Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA - MAY 23, 2013
12 ounce bottle from a Kroger. Pours a very dark brown color with a large tan head. Fair head retention. Aroma of chocolate and the faintest bit of roast. The taste is chocolate and mild hops. Thin and watery. hopdog (12953) - Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA - NOV 19, 2013
12oz bottle. Poured a brown color with a thin sized off white head. Chocolate, roast, grains, and some lighter coffee. I say lighter coffee but everything about this was lighter and somewhat watery. shrubber85 (11570) - Greenville, Indiana, USA - DEC 24, 2012
Bottle. Very light chocolate malt aroma. Dark black with moderate tan head. Chocolate barley malt flavor. Light ashy finish. Nothing bad - better than the bottled/canned Guinness you get in the states. DocLock (10970) - Lower Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania, USA - MAY 18, 2013
Bottles from Capone’s and Wegman’s Collegeville. Pours burnt sienna with 1-finger khaki head. Nose is roasty charred black patent malt, mild cacao, choc malt, hops. Tastes of charred black malt, mild cacao, dry with some hops. Comes off as a hoppy black lager, and a watery one at that.

Bottle shared by bhensonb. Pours dark brown with a thin tan head and a treacle and coffee aroma. There is a dry thin burnt malt flavor and little else. GT (10002) - San Diego, California, USA - DEC 14, 2012
Nitro at Iron Horse tap room. Reverse cascade nitro head. Dense and creamy. Muted mild coffee nose. Taste surprisingly decent. Lactic, dense, dairy, low bitterness, mild semisweet chocolate. No off flavors just a tad weak for Irish dry stout. Sessionable and clean. PorterPounder (8226) - Tallahassee, Florida, USA - MAR 23, 2013
Tallahassee, Fl. - ABC Fine Wine & Spirits - 12 oz bottle - part of a St Patick;s Day gimmicky mix pack with Bass Ale. Dark brown, cola-like pour with redddish tints, quickly diminishing off-white head. Aroma has some faint cereal notes, a hint of fresh lake water. Flavor has some earthy tones, light licorice, some potting soil, a touch of black coffee. Mouthfeel is thick enough, could be a tad chalkier. Decent. Nearly black, red backlights with a thick, greyish, tan head.
Scent is cola, chocolate....light smoke.
Taste is fairly simple fare.....dark chocolate over coffee and cola.
Watery and light, but not bad. thedm (6306) - Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA - APR 17, 2014
This bottled brew from a bottle shop poured a medium sized head of foamy finely sized light brown colored bubbles that were mostly diminishing and left behind a no visible carbonation opaque dark black brown colored body and an excellent lacing. The mild aroma was brown malt. The mouth feel was tingly at the start and at the finish with a mild mild roasted malt aftertaste. The tangy flavor contained notes of roasted malt burnt malt brown malt dark malt and hops. A decent one that I would consider drinking again.
