After other I’d had from the brewery and attributed to being a new brewery problems this one impressed me and gave me hope for others being much better after time. Pours very dark brown with a dense tan head. The aroma has chocolate, cream, smooth roasty malt and light chalk ~ very smooth and cocoay. Medium grainy body with flowing semi-soft carbonation. The flavor starts a bit thinner than the aroma suggests with roasty malt, dates, cocoa and dark chocolate. The finish has some spice and a hint of green apple. Nice stout. dwaggs2 (1298) - Jefferson City, Missouri, USA - JUN 19, 2011

Sample from a 22 oz. bottle at TWCP Beerfest 2011. Pours a cloudy, dark brown color with a finger-thick tan head that settles into a film and ring. Nice aroma of roasted chocolate malts, coffee, toasted nuts, brown sugar, and oats. Flavor of roasted chocolate malts, coffee, earth, and faint brown sugar- doesn’t open up quite as much as the nose. Light-medium bodied, with a roasty mouthfeel and medium carbonation. Nice first stout for the new brewery in the state. I’ll go back for more of this.
