Premium bitter with black pepper.
An unmistakable aroma tickles the nose. A subtle tingle of crushed pepper with bellowing heat. A clean and beautifully balanced beer.

alexmate (335) - South Yorkshire, ENGLAND - JUL 13, 2016
A novelty beer. Includes a packet of black pepper to sprinkle on top. This beer has a big white head and is a dirty golden\amber colour. The flavours are slighty bready, with a bit of caramel, pepper of course and a slight bitterness. Fairly average taste wise, but the novelty makes it worth a try.

johndoughty (5600) - cheslyn hay, West Midlands, ENGLAND - OCT 9, 2015
Bottle. Bronze with a small head. Felt weird adding pepper to a beer. Slightly spicy but nothing really exceptional. The label said that it won a World beer championship. Which world would that be?

Too much pepper.....slight white head and nothing more.flavour kill whole beer.no more experiments for me.

gopherfan99 (2012) - Minnesota, USA - AUG 11, 2015
Bottle; pours clear amber with white head; aroma of black pepper, caramel, and malt; taste is caramel, malt, and black pepper; has a light bitter finish with pepper; not bad

mr_h (6114) - Ayr, SCOTLAND - JUN 3, 2015
500ml bottle at home, source unknown, more than 7 months beyond the best before date, spicy, toffee aroma, clear amber brown, big beige head, intermittent lacing, raisin toffee, black pepper, oily with a peppery finish

Pyobon (1543) - Sydney, AUSTRALIA - MAY 20, 2015
(Bottle) Clear amber brown with good white head. Peppery aroma. Medium body, medium carbonation. Taste is nice carsmel malt with some peppery spice. Overall, a nice beer but with no real significance of pepper.

Towey1989 (3530) - Stoke On Trent, Staffordshire, ENGLAND - MAY 14, 2015
Bottle. Pours a clear copper colour with a fizzy off white head (With obvious black pepper floating in it) Slight aroma of berries, caramel and earthy hops through the pepper. Taste of caramel, spicy, earthy hops, light peppery hints, slight flavour of berries and raisin. Light bodied and soft carbonation. A malty finish with subtle sweetness. The added pepper didn’t make much difference, a very average ESB otherwise.

stout94 (5) - - JAN 14, 2015 does not count
AROMA: Peppery APPEARANCE: Copper in appearance + clear but for the pepper granules floating in it. Frothy head. TASTE: Bitter and salty in taste, spicy due to the pepper. PALATE: Meidum body, quite lively body in terms of bubbles. OVERALL: Novel beer, not sure whether I enjoy peppery beer but it was worth a try. Just over half marks for me.

bartlebier (4242) - Belchium im Biersgau, GERMANY - JAN 12, 2015
50cl bbOcT14, from Mondial Mulhouse, i.e. slightly off. Soggy copper pour, smells like a wheaty ESB (peach marmelade, biscuit). Some subtle UK bitter notes (wood, fruit, tea) cancelled out by sweetish wheats. Adding the black pepper distracts from the incompatible ESB beneath rather than complements it, although it does accompany a salsify soup rather well.

SarkyNorthener (5075) - West Bromwich (Yorkshire Expat), West Midlands, ENGLAND - DEC 31, 2014
New years eve beer 6. Bottle from morrisons and shared with s_hartshorne. Copper beer with medium head. Aroma of caramel, malts and fruity. Taste is light tangerine, malts and some pepper spice. Ok beer.
