Mahognibrun klar med lavt beige skum. Lite lukt, noe lett brent karamell. Lett. Søtlig brent start, bitterheten kommer godt fra mitten og ut.

500ml bottle at home, thanks to Sarah. As ’Batemans Rosey Nosey’, 4.7%, BB Dec 2016. Santa, snow, reindeer and a snowman on the label, just in case there’s any doubt about this being a Christmas special. Orange brown, clear, lightly sparkling with a thin dense tan head. Aroma is dusty, emptied vacuum, cat paws, pencil sharpenings. Body is medium, a touch foamy, low-ish carbonation. Taste is resin, spice, a little metallic all set against a peanut brittle malt background. Finishes dry and bitter with some woody cinnamon. A bit metallic.

bergstaden (3156) - Røros, NORWAY - DEC 14, 2015
Amber with a white head - Malt with some caramel notes in the aroma - Malt body with some caramel flavours and some gentle hops that gives some hops and bitterness in the back - The malt goes into the finish - This was nice

Enjoying this in July in New Zealand - mid winter as intended for this beer. It’s a shame I can’t share it with some Christmas Turkey and dinner! Malty well balanced and not too in your face.

* Nettes karamellig-dunkles Bier. Schöne Ale-Noten, frisch und tief. Dunkle Früchte, moderat bitter-aleiger Nachgeschmack. Lecker.

bnokk (539) - Lee, Massachusetts, USA - MAY 8, 2015
APPEARANCE - great dark amber color. White head leaves the glass too soon. NOSE - strong malty overtones. Perhaps some fruitiness. FLAVOR - Excellent malty brew, with hints of vanilla. NOTES - Another refreshing Xmas ale due to its lack of too much spice. American Christmas Beer Makers, take note.

Bottle. Clear amber pour with a quickly dissipating carbonated head. Malty, fruity, some brown sugar and a hint of chocolate/coffee. Okay.

larsga (7625) - Oslo, NORWAY - MAR 15, 2015
Big offwhite head. Clear deep brownish red body. Roasty caramelly cinnamon aroma with perfumy caramel and vanilla notes. Sweetish fruity perfumy caramel taste with metallic notes. Mid-bodied. Mild, soft mouthfeel with low carbonation. Dryish caramelly metallic fruity aftertaste with metallic wooden vanilla notes. It’s not bad, but a bit perfumy and artificial. (0.5l bottle, I forget where from.)
