Bottle from b&m Chester-le-Street. Amber coloured with marzipan, vanilla and toffee flavours and a red fruity finish. Gary (2035) - West London, Greater London, ENGLAND - MAY 19, 2012
(Bottled) . its not golden ,yet is called a golden ale on the bottle , resembling more an APA - you know customary glowing bronze SNPA lookin kinda resemblance thing , i reckon, resting in the flute . drinking this isn’t as floral or zesty as you expect either for the style . rather malty driven , caramel , mild orange notes , wood, lemon bitterness , some mango ..... but these fruits and the overall character is rather subdued . Not bad though despite my moanng through most of the rating .....

Clear 500ml bottle (4.2%), best before mid July 2008, drank early May 2008.
Poured into a Batemans half pint tumbler (twice).
It was a light amber colour, clear and sparkling, with a good formed white head which sadly soon fell away to a thin wispy covering.
Fairly sweet aroma, toffee apples and malted milk biscuits came to my mind.
This is the 13th Batemans beer I have reviewed on this site. I obviously like their beers and this is no exception. It has a sweetish feel to it, although there is a dryness in the finish. I also detected spices (pepper, cumin and tumeric?), but the wife was cooking mushrooms in the room next door.
Lovely summer brew and another fine beer from a wonderful brewery set in a smashing part of Great Britain.

(Bottle) Bright coppery golden with good white head. Aroma has notes of biscuit and rice. Light body, well carbonated. Flavor is thin and not very pleasant with seaweed and subtle toffee. Overall a bit bland, thin and not very nice. dynamiteninja (1872) - Norfolk, ENGLAND - SEP 21, 2011
Bottle. Over carbonated. Pours a very lively white head. Golden amber body. Biscuity, fruity, nutty. Not too hoppy, despite its colour. Sweetish. Clean dry finish. Average. swooper (1247) - Cambridge and Kladno(Czech Rep.), Cambridgeshire, ENGLAND - SEP 19, 2011
