Beer sphere sampled at Classic City Brew Fest 2014. Pours a deep golden brown, aroma is sweet malty grain with a hint of fruity English yeast esters, taste follows. Solid ESB, but there are better ones out there.

Two hand-pulled pints at The Elephant & Castle, Dawley on 27th Oct 2012. Light amber in body colour with a good head of white bubbles on top. The nose isn’t strong but you can find fruity notes and malty molasses easy enough. The taste follows the aroma nicely, with a smooth caramel maltiness and a mixed fruit bowl sort of flavour. Fairly sweet and very easy to drink with a mild bitterness never far from the surface. The body depth was fine and suited the alcohol content and flavours well: first time I’ve had this in cask form: hope we meet again one day.

Sweet, fruity aroma. Rich, silky texture. Flavour of rum, raisin and wood. Is warming, sticky and sweet.

Cask. Copper colour with a minor off-white head. Aroma is fruits, wood, herbs, some maltyness as well as mild alcohol like sweetness. Flavour is similar in a pleasant balance.

Cask conditioned Handpump King Billy Northampton. A copper coloured beer with a whitish head and lace. Good depth of flavour in this. Mostly sweet with light fruits with house yeast, but the hops really work within a beer of this fruity strength. The odd wheaty note. Pretty deep and quite lovely. Great alcohol. A rare Batemans beauty.

On cask at the Counting House in Glasgow. Pours a dark golden colour with a thin beige head. A big caramel aroma gives way to toffee, treacle and honeycomb. Honeycomb flavour also with caramel and toffee apples. A nice maple syrup linger. A little oily mouth-feel and low carbonation. OK.

cask at SOrder ... copper ... creamy tan head ...soft sweet toffee fruits ... juicy malt nose ...rich toffee malts ... rich vine fruits ... oversweet over rich ... little vanilla ... little oxsised ? ... no enough for me in some ways ... too much in others

Tasted this in The Esquire House, Glasgow, (JDW) in October 2004. Cask, handpump dispense. Clear red amber in colour with a thin white head. Sweet note of golden syrup in the short aroma. Thin mouthfeel and good lacing. Pale malts give a fruity apple crumble base with golden syrup evident. Good smack of dry hops impart a very dry aftertaste. Finish is quite dry and warming with oak flavours present. Powerful ESB style bitter that should be treated with caution as the og belies an easy uptake during a session!

Cask at the BlackFriar at Blackfriers. Clear amber colour, fine offwhite head, little lace. Sweet woody nose with a hint of dried plum. Quite tart bitter start with a fruit pudding sweet middle and herbal bitter finish. Well hidden alcohol and fine to drink.
