Slightly sweet with mild malt flavours. Doesnt capture any of the magic a bitter has on cask. Just toasted malts with sweet caramel making a mild but quaffable brew! Grumbo (3968) - Ipswich, Suffolk, ENGLAND - OCT 22, 2017

500ml bottle from Ken Warne grocery store, Darlington. Coppery amber colour, tan foam head and aroma of malt, toffee, caramel. Taste is roasty malt, doughy bready, some caramel, fruity and grassy earthy hop bitterness. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, dry tangy malty bitter finish. Quite drinkable. Vaiz (4460) - Den Haag, NETHERLANDS - JAN 13, 2016
Bottle at home. Clear amber pour, almost no head. Aroma of spicy malts, licorice, aged hops, honey and some stophoest. Flavor is quite bitter malty, spicy, thick body and smooth. Quite dry. Erzengel (9467) - Wuppertal, GERMANY - JAN 7, 2016
*Old rating from 2011. Nice toasted beer with hints of malts and caramel. Nuts. Nice and easy to drink. Full and rich with a nice Ale characteristic. Great and round. gripweed57 (2861) - Hamilton Square, New Jersey, USA - JUL 24, 2015
500 ml bottle. Deep copper color with a small frothy beige head with clinging lace. Toasted malt nose has a sharp fruity character. Upfront, more fruity malt with notes of plums and Demerara sugar. Slightly spicy hops in midtaste. Finish is soft and dry. Pleasant and well balanced. A nice example of an English bitter.
