Unbalanced. Faint aroma of chocolate and cherry. Nice dark color with a thin head. Medium weight and smooth. Cherry up front and throughout. Unfortunately, it masked all other flavors. Too tart with a slight hint of chocolate and roasted malt in the background. RobertDale (6376) - Lansing, Kansas, USA - JAN 17, 2015
22 ounce bottle. Pours black with a decent brown head. Aroma of chocolate, malt, and fruit. Taste is chocolate, roasted malt, vanilla, and some cherry. Very thin body. Pretty good. PorterPounder (7888) - Tallahassee, Florida, USA - JUN 29, 2014
Stockbridge, Ga.- Eagles Landing Bottle Shop - 22 oz bomber. Inky black, viscous pour with a thickish mocha colored head. Aroma brings out some very faint cherry accents, a hint of bittersweet chocolate. Flavor is not very pronounced considering all that it purports to be. Very faint vanilla, a brief hint of cherries and some baker’s unsweetened chocolate. Plenty of earthy topsoil in the back end. Mouthfeel is decently thick. Enjoyable, but expected more flavor unclemattie (4358) - Georgia, USA - JUN 27, 2014
22oz bottle. Very dark pour, black color. Dark brown foam. Aroma of tart cherry, sweet chocolate. Bitter chocolate, tart cherry, decent fruit. Very creamy texture. Almost finishes with notes of a black cherry soda, only much more dry.

Despite the appealing mix of ingredients, this does not smell or taste particularly good. Rather artificial cherry flavor; milk chocolate. Lightly sweet with both sour and bitter components.
Feel: smooth medium-full body with lively (a tad high) carbonation.

If you get a bottle, open with care - my sample rivaled Old Faithful when I popped off the cap! When it settles down, it’s a rich coffee brown with a very thick tan head. Smoky malt aroma has overtones of chocolate and cherry - gee, I wonder why, tee hee. Flavor has a core of roast malt that supports chocolate, cherry, and subtle coffee notes. Firm, smooth texture has some good fizz so it goes down the hatch well. Definitely not "boar"-ing! JHeath99 (1678) - Warner Robins, Georgia, USA - APR 18, 2014
Bottle from Lazy Dog. Pours an opaque dark brown with minimal tan head. Aroma of roasted malts with a fruity hint. Taste of fruit up front that fades into a nice roastiness. jbruner (4691) - Marietta, Georgia, USA - APR 16, 2014
Bottle sampled at Classic City Brew Fest 2014. Pours a deep brownish black with minimal tan head. Aroma is big on the chocolate with a hint of sweet vanilla. Taste follows, I wouldn’t have guessed cherries if it wasn’t on the label, but there is some fruitiness that could be yeast. Not bad, a bit thin. hopdog (12341) - Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA - DEC 22, 2013
22oz bottle. Poured a black color with an off white head. Smokey and roasty with chocolate and cherries.
