This delicious Beer combines enormous amounts of plump Two Row Barley, Dark Roasted Malts and Toasted Coconut. The result is a Rich Decadent Stout loaded with hints of Chocolate, Sweet Malt and Espresso. Flaked Oats, Vanilla and Delicious Coconut round off this creamy and full bodied Beer. We enjoy it any time, but this Beer is an occasion all its own.

Decent aroma of vanilla and coconut. Average stout darkness, no head retention. Medium to light palate. Flavors were not balanced. Not terrible but needs some tweaking. Mainly vanilla and roasted malt with a subtle coconut finish.

Bottle. Pours an opaque brown-black with a quick-dissipating fluffy light brown head. No lace. Nose is overwhelmingly toasted coconut -- almost shades into suntan lotion. Any other aromatic elements are lost. On the tongue, there’s bitter chocolate and coffee, but the coconut continues to be hugely dominant; once again, it’s almost suntan lotion, and while it says vanilla on the label, I can’t taste any in the beer. Definitely out of balance, and stays that way through the finish, though there’s some espresso notes. On a flavored stout, any flavoring should be an accent or an element. It should not be so omnipresent as to beat the rest of the beer to death.

Squat bottle; poured a very dark brown with a compact khaki/light brown head. Aroma of coconut sweetness, with some vanilla and oats. So far so good. Definitely not an infected bottle. A lot of coconut flavor, almost like a pina colada. Could have used some more balance. Palate was soft and nice. Long, lingering finish. Showed some promise.

Pours a dark brown with khaki colored head and LOTS of it. Took about 5 mins to finish the pour. Smell is off, synthetic like coconut and dare I say brett, but something is off. Took 2 sips and drain poured it. Terrible beer. It was off from pour to drain pour.

Aroma is roasted with malt and espresso, followed by a sweetness of chocolate and a lingering hint of coconut. Flavor is a balance between espresso and chocolate, with hints of oats and coconut. Mouthfeel is creamy. Could have been more of coconut presence, but decent overall.

From bomber bottles on two occasions. Should have been three but one bomber bottle stored in my cool cellar exploded after several weeks, leaving a widespread sticky mess. The second bottle gushed like crazy, making a mess even though I was cautious and, I thought, prepared. The taste seems to confirm that this is a contaminated batch. Much better when fresh but still recommend AVOID!

22oz bomber shared by Jcwatts. Poured black with a small foamy khaki colored head. Aroma of roasted malt, chocolate, match sticks, vanilla, and just a hint of coconut oil. Taste of roasted malt, coconut milk, chocolate, ash, and a hint of vanilla bean.

Bottle shared by John. Pours dark brown tan head. Nose and taste of toasted coconut, light roast chocolate, lactose and vanilla bean. Lighter body.

22oz bomber shared by jcwatts. Poured a deep dark black with a larger tight foamy beige head. Aroma of dry bakers sugar, coconut creme, sweeter chocolate, brown dough. Flavor of ash, dirt, brown toast, coconut shell, dry sugar. Fizzy body, loads of carbonation, lingering dirty flavor. Flavor of ash, earth, sweet burnt chocolate, dark sugar, light coconut creme. Interesting.

unclemattie (4406) - Georgia, USA - JUN 28, 2014
22oz bottle. Foamed over, too much carbonation. Pours black, excited dark brown foam. Very creamy texture. Tastes infected, sour flavor. No vanilla or coconut. Refund? (4104)
