Definitely an interesting hefe....the usual aroma/flavor components are there is definitely a stronger citrus presence, more reminiscent of a wheat. The overall balance of citrus, with the banana, clove and yeast esters comes through very nicely. Overall a nice blend and interesting take on the style.
Nice, strong hefeweizen--though like other Battered Boar offerings, seems excessively sweet. bu11zeye (13239) - Frisco (Dallas), Texas, USA - JUL 25, 2012
(12oz bottle) Pours a lightly hazy golden body with a medium off-white head. Aroma of orange, wheat, herbs, and mustiness. Flavor of wheat, bread, citrus, apricot, light clove, and banana. Mora2000 (6158) - McKinney, Texas, USA - JUL 7, 2012
Thanks to bu11zeye for sharing this bottle.
This beer was a gusher and poured a yellow color with a huge white head. The aroma has a good bit of bread and wheat it in, without too much else. The flavor is not what I expected from a hefeweizen. I get a lot of citrus fruit, as well as some bread, grass, wheat and spices. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation. degbert (1776) - Austin, Texas, USA - MAY 30, 2012
Bottle. Let me state up front I find a lot of domestic hefeweizens boring. This one, however, is not. Pours a hazy orange-gold with a high, pillowy head. Nose is strongly citrus -- almost a tangerine note mixed in with clove and nutmeg., but still in the end a touch one-dimensional. Very flavorful on the tongue; it has a definite personality with more citrus and toasty notes. Finishes long and a touch sour. Good, and definitely not boring. blutt59 (6609) - Dallas, Texas, USA - AUG 11, 2011
bottle, good looking orange to golden color with thick foam, aroma of cherries, bubblegum, floral note, flavor of sweet banana candy, spice, slight metal, some alcohol comes through

Murky amber color/ fleeting head. Tart lemon, pit fruit, clove aromas. medium bodied. Light pit fruit, lemon, banana, clove, sweet tart flavors. Pit fruited hefe. RasterMaster (258) - , Oklahoma, USA - SEP 30, 2010
Ruddy amber blonde pour into thick pillowy off white head that quickly dissipates into a ring of swirling lacing as malty sediment sinks to the bottom of the glass. Aroma of sweet bread, malt, and citrus. Initial flavor of candied banana and wheat bread that fades into citrusy hops. Was indeed a heartbreaker when I ran out of these! gururyan (730) - Stillwater, Oklahoma, USA - SEP 24, 2010
Picked up by the suggestion of a friend, I didn’t feel this fit the typical hefe taste. Didn’t really think much of it honestly, nothing memorable enough to write about. troyc (2869) - Illinois, USA - AUG 9, 2010
[Bottle] Pours a light amber color with a slight haze to it. The soapy white head receded quickly. Aroma of light gum, clove, wheat malts and alcohol, surprisingly. The taste is of clove, wheat, bread, band-aid flavors and a bit of alcohol. The carbonation here seemed a little on the low side for the style. Average body, with lingering sour hefe flavors in the finish. Certainly drinkable, but I was pretty underwhelmed with this brew.
