COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The beer in this bottle is a true Bauhaus original. Loosely based on German bockbier, we dose this festive and full-bodied malty ale with loads of funky, citrusy hops and a bit of alchemy. The result? A beer worthy of Dr. Frankenstein’s monster...but with more umlauts.

Flight at New Bohemia. Pours clear gold. Scent is tropical fruit and wheat. Taste is similar. Body is light. Finish is watery. Easy drinking decent bock.

Tap at buster’s on 28th. Very faint aroma. Hazy pale gold. Small head. Nice lace. Initial mouthfeel is pepper and alcohol, but in a good way. Served a little too cold. Tastes stronger than 7% but this is a really good beer.

Keg @ Busters. Deep gold with a small white head. Nose is of baked bread. Mild cracked pepper and grass. A bit of honey. Flavor is sweet with a moderately full, somewhat boozy finish. Apricot spread. Toasted bread. A bit oily.

Nicely done beer. Pours a deep amber brown with an off white head. Aroma is dark fruit and fog with a hint of hops. Smooth and drinkable with a caramel finish.

Interesting concept. It tastes like a bock, though it is also hoppy. You get a taste like an IPA, but then the caramel malt flavor comes through like a bock beer.

I rather enjoyed this, though my wife did not. I love the name, to be sure, but more important, it provided a good body, hints of richness and primary malt effect, with some fruity and caramel interactions. A good take on the bock. (on tap at brewery)

On tap at the brewery. Pour is amber-brown with a big tan head and sticky lacing. Husky, brown sugar, caramel malty, hay, grassy, and plummy aroma. Taste is orange peel, caramelly, brown sugar, husky, grassy hoppy, and bready. Medium body with high carbonation. OK.

Pour on tap at Grumpy’s NE, dark reddish pour with off white head, aroma brought notes of caramel, toast, bread into some grass, orange, some red fruit, slight grain. Taste was a mix of grass, bread, slight caramel into toffee, slight herbs, finishing slightly sweet, slightly bitter.

Estimated 14 oz. pour, on tap at Punch Pizza in Nordeast Minneapolis, Minnesota. Consumed on 3-12-15. Pours a nice, bright, dark amber with a moderate to large amount of creamy, taupe-colored head. Clear liquid. Produces long-lasting lacing. Looks appealing and sophisticated. Malty, toasty aroma. Scents of plum, red grape, tangerine, and carmelization. Juicy, fruity smell. Bread dough flavor. Sweet start but fairly dry finish. Nice, dull, toasty flavor. Caramel with a light sear. Enjoyable and refreshing but a bit too sweet for my tastes. Dry, bitter, burnt toast aftertaste that I like. Professionally made and solid. Full body for a lager. Crisp and lively in the palate. Easy to drink for a beer with relatively high ABV. This is another winning lager from a brewery that excels at them.

Bottle. Copper color with a medium head. Solid bready aroma, with lots of caramel and malt character. Some dusty grains as well. Strong, grainy flavor. Astringent and bitter. A bit of dry caramel. Medium body. The hops tend to overwhelm the underlying bock, but the lingering astringency melds oddly with the pile of hops.
