Can. Very light color, straw. Clear. White head. Sweet notes in the aroma. Low malt. Bready malt flavor but low, sweetness remains. Slight spicy notes from hops. More floral. Finishes bitter, crisp.

F: thin, white, quick gone. C: yellow, clear. A: malty, sulphur, bit herbal, bit yeasty. T: malty, sweet grassy, weak but harsh bitterness, light oily mouthfeel, medium body, low carbonation, smell is not good but taste can reach average almost, 25cl bottle from Prik & Tik Leuven.

Smooth mild beginning. Neutral body, sessionable with grainy hints. Long neutral aftertaste with hints of grain and not much bitterness.

Once again, I don't see what makes this Lager a PIls, especially not super or - as mine was labelled - Premium. No comparison to a German or Bohemian Pils. Drinkable, yes, but nothing to get excited about.

Bright yellow with a puffy head. Aroma is a bit spicy and grassy. Taste is pretty sweet with a fairly imposing malt character. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

oerdegelijke, eerlijke pils. Niet te zoet, niet te bitter, vlotte drinker. Beetje hoppig in de nasmaak, wat de meeste Belgische pilsen minder hebben.

3.5

BBD: 1/6/17

2015 BJCP Category: 5D German Pils

AROMA: Moderate spicy Noble hop presence. Slightly skunky. Touch of lemon and honey as well. General pale malt scent with indication of sweetness. 8/12

APPEARANCE: Straw yellow hue (2-4 SRM); very clear body. Small, white foam. 3/3

FLAVOR: Medium Noble hop peppery/spicy flavor and bitterness right away. Moderately sweet malt base with a honey/lemon flavor quickly follows. Well-attenuated, clean fermentation. Hops linger momentarily, otherwise the aftertaste is clean. 13/20

MOUTHFEEL: Medium-light body; medium carbonation. Refreshing and crisp. Easily sessionable at 5.2% ABV, especially in warmer months. 4/5

OVERALL IMPRESSION: Mostly to spec for the style, just a little mild. Fun and easy to drink, though. 7/10

TOTAL SCORE: 35/50

Clear light golden under a thin foamy white head. Thin biscuity crackery Lager aroma that’s earthy and quintessentially German. Crisp clean and super smooth flavor that’s pale and crackery, a bit lagered, lightly grassy and super traditional. Clean and pretty great.

Tap, The Beer Grotto, Ann Arbor, MI. Very pale yellow. Honey pepper aroma. Somewhat sweet. Malty for a pilsner. Muted finish.
