3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bavik is Belgium´s best pils. Way better than Stella Artois, Jupiler or Maes. Clear golden color with nice white foam and a clean aroma. The taste is more like a Bavarian Helles than a pils, although a little less malty than a Bavarian Helles. All in all a nice beer. A step up from Stella and Heineken.
Only drawback is that it is hard to find.
Tap, The Beer Grotto, Ann Arbor, MI. Very pale yellow. Honey pepper aroma. Somewhat sweet. Malty for a pilsner. Muted finish. muzzlehatch (4959) - Beloit, Wisconsin, USA - MAY 29, 2017
330 ml can from Everett’s in South Beloit, IL, served a bit below cellar temp from a Coors glass. Very, very pale, bubbly gold with a largish, semi-stable snowy cumulus head....aroma lightly bready, a bit of corn - DMS - some dry grassiness, perhaps a faint touch of rosemary, very faint, not unpleasant overall...initially rather dry and slightly bitter, this becomes a bit too sweet and syrupy at midpalate, finishing better but with a little unpleasant metallic whisper...overall not that great but drinkable enough, probably would have been better ice-cold in this case. Better than my dim memory of Stella anyway, as far as likely competitors go. jareeves (5) - - MAY 25, 2017 does not count

Minimal head. Average tasting pilsener. The malty aftertaste (though not strong) isn’t appealing to me. Victory’s Prima Pils is a better choice. CObiased (499) - Bayfield, Colorado, USA - APR 30, 2017
11.2oz can - it pours a clear very light golden yellow with an almost nonexistent white head. Good crisp aroma of grassy hops, whiff of funkiness, a little floral and cracker like malts. Low carbonation. Decent flavor with notes of cracker and bready malts, floral and grassy hops, and a hint of wheat.

On tap. Pours straw with white head. Lots of malt sweetness. Very clean finish. harrisoni (18578) - Ashford, Kent, ENGLAND - APR 6, 2017
Bottle from Terre de Boissons Calais and drunk at home. Now many people will know how much I love a bit of Bavik especially the premium pils which I will happily down a case of in one evening. Clear pale gold lasting white head. Yeast and lemon on the aroma. Now that is a completely acceptable pilsner. Not great but absolutely fine. Good hop and lemon on the finish. Wish I’d bought more for 90 euro cents a bottle. As always Bavik stands up for pale lager. Grumbo (2946) - Ipswich, Suffolk, ENGLAND - FEB 23, 2017
Can at the Spread Eagle, Ipswich. Pours pale gold with a small white head. Aroma of malt, grain, hop, lightly floral. Medium plus sweetness and light bitterness. Light body and light oily texture, carbonation is average to fizzy. nutjes (949) - Heestert-Zwevegem, BELGIUM - JAN 17, 2017

Poured from can into a pint glass
Appearance – The beer pours a clear golden amber color with a billowy white head of foam. Over time the head fades a ton of foamy lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell –The aroma of the brew is strongest of cereal grainy smell with a modest amount of a somewhat skunky and herbal smell. Mixed with these aromas are a little bit of caramel and a touch of earth and yeast.
Taste-The taste begins with a caramel sweetened grainy taste that has a touch of earthy hop and some yeast. As the taste moves on the graininess dwindles a little bit all while the sweetness remains. During this time a bit more hop of an herbal and more earth come to the tongue and leave on with a somewhat sweeter, but still rather crisp and clean taste to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body of the brew is on the slightly thinner side with a carbonation level that is rather high. For the style and the flavors it is a nice feel and makes for an easy drinking brew overall.
Overall – Crisp, pretty flavorful and easy drinking. A pretty decent pilsner overall, but nothing too out of the ordinary.
