COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
(Note the year is incorrect on the bottle’s commercial deScription - release was december 2015)

Gurthnar (6110) - Bratislava, SLOVAK REPUBLIC - AUG 20, 2017
Bottle at a tasting. Quite sweet, full bodied, somewhat lacking balancing bitterness. Mostly caramelly, lightly chocolatey, even lighter spiciness. Overall filling, good, even though out of balance. Slightly alcoholic as well.

Bottle, thanks to Gurthnar. Darker amber colour. No head. Aroma is caramel, oxidized, spices. Wine-like Aroma. Taste much the same. Very sweet, caramel, spices, cloying. A bit boozy. Hardly drinkable.

Ruby/brown, aroma fruity, nuts. Taste alcoholic, acidic caramel. Not to my liking. Bit on the cloying side.

tricksta_p (4928) - Steenwijk, NETHERLANDS - AUG 11, 2016
Bottle at home. Aroma is malt, caramel, coffee, sweet raisins, touch of dark chocolate and nuts. Flavour is medium sweet and light bitter. Body is medium. Okay ’coffee Dubbel’, however it’s a lot thinner than what I’d hoped for.

Bottle 0.33l at Cafe Gollem Amsterdam, The Netherlands. 16.06.2016. Pour it clear dark brown color with medium white head. Aroma liquorice, some chocolate, sweet candy. Taste starts with brown sugar, some chocolate, pretty flat, light body, thin feel, soft carbonation, astringent.

DwarfeD (3540) - Amersfoort, NETHERLANDS - JUL 21, 2016
33cl bottle at home. Muddish brown with a small tan head. Light to medium body with low to moderate carbonation. Quite sweet with subtle bitterness. Brown sugar, coffee, some chocolate, roasted malts and ripe dark fruits. Too sweet for my taste.

3.3
Alengrin (5561) - BELGIUM - JUN 29, 2016
One of these new Groningen Bax beers, a coffee-flavored dubbel apparently brewed in Belgium. Bottle shared by Craftmember at Belgium Chimipalooza. Moussy, off-white, creamy head, hazy burgundy bronze robe. Aroma of candi sugar, pear, caramel, elderberry, hazelnuts, subtle coffee grounds. Soft sweetish onset, banana, raisin with a blackberry-like sourishness underneath, toffeeish and mellow bready malt sweetness in the middle, bit yeasty, herbal hoppy touch without great bittering power in the finish, residual candi sugar sweetness, little bit sticky, and again coffee grounds in a very subtle form, appearing as a coffeeish whiff retronasally. Bit thin on the palate, and needs more coffee and less residual sweetness to shine.

2.3
ZodiacM (1250) - NETHERLANDS - FEB 23, 2016

3.8
Benzai (16311) - Oirschot, THE NETHERLANDS, NETHERLANDS - FEB 4, 2016
Sampled @ Pint Winterbierfestival Gouda, 2016. Clear rusty copper red-brown color, small beige head. Aroma is lightly malts, caramel, sweet raisins. Taste malts, caramel, brown candy sugar, sweetish, just a slight note of coffee. Medium body and carbonation. Pretty nice.
