The beer in the glass is beautiful amber-colored with very soapy head that disappears faster than it came. The beer smells very herbal, medicinical, cough, very tart. Starts with sourish red berries, paired with yogurt and a touch of Geuze. The middle part is a little milder, the sourness is declining slightly. It has a wonderful herb aroma, coupled with slight tart fruity notes. Goes into a tangy sour, very fruity finish with currant, citrus and sourish yogurt.

Wundervoll. Wirklich erstaunlich, mit welch knalliger Säure und Fruchtigkeit man Bier brauen kann. Freche Früchtchen mit ausgewogener Perlung ein wenig an Essig. Classy classic.

On tap at Festival der Bierkulturen 2014 in Cologne. Pours out in a hazy amber-brown colour with low airy head and medium body. Wonderful aroma of acid, sourness and mild bread. Taste of green / unripe berries, thyme, wild flowers, acid and wheat. Nice balanced sourness. Enjoyed it a lot - very refreshing and highly quaffable, especially at a hot day like we had there.

Erzengel (9334) - Wuppertal, GERMANY - JUN 15, 2014
The brew starts smooth, mild-sour with herbs. The sourness is smooth and fruity. Fresh and intense. Not too sour, but full-bodied. The aftertaste is smooth, fresh, sour-mild, great! 13/12/13/13

At FdB 2014. Poured medium brown with a dense white head. Aroma of sweet malt, a bit spicy, sweet fruit. Light to medium body, flavour as the aroma.

Tap at Festival der Bierkulturen, Koln. Pours cloudy golden brown with a minimal white ring head. Aroma of nettles, light spice and light herbs. Flavour is moderate acidic. Light medium bodied with light to moderate carbonation.

[email protected] Köln 2014. Like most BayBhf brews sampled so far, has some issues with aroma/sheer nose, oozing gentle rot, minerals and drain pipe, not quite goze wet diaper... Taste is a big step up, providing actually pleasant wayside herb (nettle, wet grass, dandelion) freshness coupled with variated citrus notes (melissa). Well drinkable, with ample room improvement in the aroma-taste balance. (Aged 2 yrs, soured with lactic acid post quem).

ThirstyBird (2992) - Berkhamsted, Hertfordshire, ENGLAND - JUN 1, 2014
Pours a cloudy orange color with little head. The smell is salty, fruit. The taste is salty, tart citrus, dry and crisp end. Very light body with nice active carbonation.

Trübes oranges Bier mit ordentlicher Schaumkrone. Geruch leicht hefig, Gewürze. Geschmack fruchtig, stark würzig, Kräuter, Citrus.

No hope today.

FDBK 2012. No head today, body cloudy, orange-brown. It smells malty, spicy. The taste is aromatic-spicy, very sour, malty. Interesting!
