Hell-holzig in der Farbe, malzig-würziger Geruch. Der Antrunk ist holzig-malzig, sehr mild-weich. Tolle Holztöne. Schön weich mild. Keine alkoholischen Noten. Der Nachgeschmack ist leicht herb, mild-weich. Toll! crossovert (12666) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - SEP 24, 2012
75ml bottle. It pours a cidre-like unfiltered amber brown with a frothy off-white head. The smell is very nice. Woody with ample oak to it, vanilla, caramel, and a nice bit of herbal noble hops. The flavor is slightly tart with a nice sweetness and a lingering medium bitterness. Oak is prevalent as well as bread and caramel. It reminds me of a Uerige sticke that I had on draft once that was sligthly tart. redlight (2318) - Orlando, Florida, USA - JAN 12, 2011
draft @ redlight redlight. Caramel malts on the nose with creamy vanilla aromas. Pours an orange amber with a dense white head. Smooth creamy mouthfeel, with an earthy bitterness with grassy notes with vanilla oak tanins in the finish. Nice, not overly oaky. Solid beer. beastiefan2k (3901) - HdG (past: NYC, KS, Rain City), Maryland, USA - JUL 13, 2013
750mL cool looking bottle poured into a 12oz Corsendonk goblet glass. Pours with a small head atop an orange body. Aroma is very German - ashy metal lager with green slightly sulphuric lager yeast. Very German aroma. Flavor is similar with a faint tartness at the very end with a fresh lager finish. Nice stuff, no oak presence. Dickinsonbeer (5074) - Hoboken, New Jersey, USA - JAN 8, 2011
Tap at Max’s. Pours a light woody brown, slight haze thin head. Aroma is big caramel, toast, biscuit, light burnt slight smokey hint with woody, ashy notes and full malt- low hops. Flavor is good full toasted malts, biscuit, munich sweetness, toffee, burnt sugar, some slight smoke, oak, and burnt notes with a slight whiskey hint from the oak. Smooth body. I liked this one quite a bit more than the Porter.

Capped 750 (fat bottom Italian style) from Monument in Concord, CA. Pours hazy med dark orange/amber with a creamy/frothy beige head. Aroma is fruity, lightly toast malt, and a suggestion of wood. Med + body. Carb is sharpish. Flavor is fruity, lightly toast malt, with some woody astringency. It’s something of a contradiction. It seems dry and bitter, then it seems mildly sweet and not all that bitter. Finishes fruity, malt and a little woody. Consistent in that anyway. Very tasty. Draught from gingermanhattan. Pours a brownish tinged gold. Mild head. Some malt and fruits, clean finish. Not too heavy. notalush (5866) - Denver, Colorado, USA - JUL 13, 2013
Thanks to Eugene for sharing - cloudy dark copper - some fine floating particulate - fluffy, lasting lace - aroma of doughy yeast, lightly toasty malt, light caramel, somewhat dull hoppiness, mildly bitter oak - flavor of bitter oak up front, followed by doughy character, lighty estery notes - a decent frothiness to the mouthfeel - lightly tart finish, with some baked apple and peach - interesting beer. 750 ml bottle poured into a brandy snifter. Pours a hazy amber with a thicker beige head of foam. The aroma has funky lemon and lactic tart note. The taste has an interesting tartness to it that is more on the sweet side. Lighter to medium bodied. kiwianer (3428) - Otorohanga, NEW ZEALAND - JAN 1, 2014
FDBK 2010. The head is ok. It smells sweet-sour, wood, aromatic. The taste is sweet-sour, wooden-intensive, sweet-wooden. Special.
