On tap at Draught Industries. I am taking a guess that this is what I had. This seems to be the closest thing, but that was definitely not a porter. It was called a barrel aged sour, aged for 2 years with brett, lactic acid, and sherry yeast. A very interesting creation served at a bar that says they don’t make art, they drink it. Nicely balanced between sour, sweet, and bitter. Some sherry flavor, and some citrus and malt in the aroma.

Tap @43 hours of sour. Pours opaque black, large brown head, puffy, dissipates slowly with nice lacing. Aroma is smoky, funky, dusty, roasty. Flavor is light sweet, bitingly acidic, lightly tart, roasty. Medium body, harsh and biting. Meh.

Draft at Churchkey. Clear dark maroon brown color, small beige head. Aroma of vanilla, dates, earthy orange and plum. Taste is vinous plums, raisins, vanilla, cocoa. Enhances the equally tasty original.

Draft at Torst. If this is bottled and you have a label, please let me know. I’m looking for one. Pours dark brown with tan head. Nose and taste of red wine, gin, oak, light cocoa and toasted grain. Medium body.

Smell of red wine and cocoa powder. Really odd combo brett, porter and vineous aftet taste.

Draft at Ginger Man. Pours near black with a beige head. Tart berries, lightly roasted malts, mild woody tannins, moderate acidity, and a relatively dry bretty funky finish. Damn. I don’t know how the hell these Zymatore beers come together so well, but the last few I’ve tried have been phenomenal, this one included. Flavors are all super well balanced; just a great punch of flavor without being too over the top or overwhelming. Awesome awesome stuff.

On draft at Churchkey DC. Pours a clear dark cola with a thin tan head. Aroma of bourbon. Flavors of plum and sea salt. Medium bodied. Light carbonation. Smooth tart finish.
