3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
33cl Bottle from De Bierkoning. As Porticus Leipziger Doppel-Porter, ABV is 8.5% according to the label. Different beer? Almost black colour, big fluffy and rocky light-beige head. Aroma is tart, lots of Brettanomyces funk, light salty, salty liquorice, hint of cinnamon, hard roasted malts, light fruity. Flavour is medium sweet, chocolate, hard roasted malts, light tart Brett, coffee, liquorice, caramel, light funky bitter finish. Medium-bodied, lots of carbonation.
A deep dark porter with a thick dissipating mocha head. In aroma, pleasant mix of bitter chocolate, coffee grind, musty character, light peated notes, light Brett, very nice and complex. In mouth, a beautiful complex mix of bitter chocolate, peated notes, light vanilla, light powdery character, nice and complex. Bièropholie imports. About 2 years old. Neorej80 (498) - - FEB 12, 2015
Malty, breadlike aroma with toaster coffeebeans and some dried cherries. Flavours of coffee and chocolate and alsof some hints of oak. Dry bittersweet aftertaste. kappldav123 (6100) - GERMANY - JAN 31, 2015
Thanks to Bayerischer Bahnhof for the chance to try this beer. Beer in the glass deep black, nice brownish head. Intense malty aroma. Starts intense malty, quite roasty and dry, notes of bitter chocolate, also woody notes. Hints of coffee and liquorice. Finish more dry, spicy, still intense roasty-malty. Goes down warming. Very special beer! slowrunner77 (12043) - Reno, Nevada, USA - SEP 17, 2014
"Lost 90% instantly with an immediate volcanic eruption when opened. F that. Gt an ounce and a half taster. Too bad. Doppelbock bready and porter roasty, dark fruit and mild Brett. Too bad I paid $4 an ounce." Erzengel (8733) - Wuppertal, GERMANY - JUL 6, 2014
Süßlich-karamelliger Antrunk, malzig-süßlich. Der Hauptteil ist malzig, dickflüssig. Im Nachgeschmack lang, holzig-karamellig, dabei mild-herb.

Ein leckeres Bier zum Genießen! 14/12/13/13
Appagante e ricca, un’invidiabile perla teutonica. kiwianer (3428) - Otorohanga, NEW ZEALAND - JAN 1, 2014
FDBK 2011. The head is ok, the body black. It smells roasty, dry, a bit salty. The taste is roasty, salty, special, bit coffee, interesting. beastiefan2k (3981) - HdG (past: NYC, KS, Rain City), Maryland, USA - DEC 30, 2013
UPDATED: DEC 31, 2013 Goblet draft at Ginger Man NYC. Black body with tan head. Aroma is super bretty - way leathery, leather to the max. Behind that a nice earthy porter with light roast. Just so leathery and wild. Flavor is fruity and leather with a light fizzy finish with lots of tart juicy brett at the end. A real fun beer to drink. rederic (3337) - montréal, Quebec, CANADA - NOV 11, 2013

On tap at Bangers & Lace. Succulent. Rich but not too coffee-flavored like many porters. Tartness from the Brett adds a really neat aspect to the finish. Interesting and really enjoyable.
