COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This original Leipzig beer specialty lends us the name for our brewery. Gose is a regional beer specialty that was brought to Saxony-Anhalt in the year 1738. Originally Gose comes from Goslar, a small town in Lower Saxony, and the river “Gose” in this town. This beer specialty has a refreshing, slightly sour taste and is ideal for quenching your thirst. Gose is brewed with the additional ingredients lactic acid, cilantro, and salt. Gose is a top-fermented beer with 4,5 Vol. % alcohol and 10,8 % wort. You can enjoy it in different variations.

An unclear light yellow beer with a thin white head. The aroma is wheaty with notes of lemon, while the flavor is sweet wheaty with notes of lemon and coriander. I don’t pick up the salt.

UPDATED: AUG 18, 2003 Sampled draught at Gasthaus & Gosebrauerei Bayerischer Bahnhof, Leipzig.
Pale orange and cloudy with creamy head. Strong coriander aroma. Fruity and salty, rounded and strikingly similar to a salty wit. odd in that it is both thirst quenching, and then the salt makes you thirsty again...

Draught served at 42˚ Appearance was bright clear golden with a large white head that disappears rapidly and leaves good lacing. Smell was almost non-existent, just very slight citrus. Taste is bubblegum and sour banana, nice slightly bitter finish, long-lasting. Classic example of a weizen, very drinkable, to be sought after.

Bottle at home in CT, from the Union days. Clear, light gold pour with a fizzy, white head. Slight tart aroma, some definite notes of coriander. Flavor is tangy and lightly sweet, some pleasant coriander and spice notes. Light bodied with delicate carbonation. Crisp, clean and faintly tart finish with some short-lived spiciness. Very nice.
