(draft) Clear copper body with small beige head. Aroma is sweet caramle, fruity. Taste is medium sweet, chocolate, some caramel, and a good earthy bitterness starts mid-tongue and carries through to the finish. Medium brown color. Medium head. Aroma is malty and slightly nutty. A medium bodied amber. Malts are nutty and slightly sweet. Hops are fairly bitter. Well balanced. Very drinkable. UPDATED: SEP 13, 2004 A citrus flavor encapsulates the palate and might make me think that this was a pale ale, although Bayhawk does also have a CPA. Settles into a smoother malt finish, briefly sticky and honey-like, but tempered by the underlying citrus. on draft lucilles...tapped as their house amber ale. copper clear color thin tan head. nose of cascade hops and crystal malt. nicely balanced mod body. slightly thin but crisp and easy to drink. good everyday beer.

Bottle Hi-Time Cellars. Pours copper amber with a slight off-white head. Aroma is malty with a slight fruit note. Med minus body. Flavor is roasty malt with very little hop. Tap @ Lucille’s Smokehouse BBQ in Torrance, CA as their house amber: Pours a copper color, nice head and lacing. Caramel nose with a light brush of apple and earthy spicy hops. The flavor is chewy and hoppy with a nice floral finish and a lingering caramel note. Nothing marvelous but it makes for a good house beer. I was in an Outback Restaurant in Burlington, WA and there was a beer called "Outback Amber" the waitress said it was made by Pyramid - well Pyramid does not have an everyday Amber Ale and did not respond to my request if they made this beer and after searching the Internet I found that that this brewer makes an Outback Amber Ale and makes several house beers for many restaurants so.... Light white head, light amber appearance. Decent blend of hops and malt. Would make a decent session ale. Nothing too memorable nor distracting - went well with the steak.

Like every Bayhawk beer I have had, it has an aroma of butterscotch. It makes you think that it could be possibly be diacetyl. Perhaps the brewer does this on purpose. The appearance is a copper red that it clear with a foamy head. It tastes like caramel malt with a little hop crispness. It is between light and medium bodied and can be used in session drinking. A very average, albeit drinkable ale.
